So who's up for a little chainsaw goodness tonight, say 10PM Central? I'll host.

Possibly, depending on how the football game is going.

EDIT: Actually, the game should be over soon after your 10p CST start time, so I'll try to pop in soon after you get going. Don't hold a spot for me though, if you can fill the room.

Wish I could, but we've got a client in town and the boss has organized a suckling pig roast to welcome him. Saw someone in half for me!

Awesome firefights tonight, guys. Lots of fun. Brando, sorry we couldn't get you back in the game, but I know I'll be on a lot of nights over the holiday. We'll get some impromptu games going for sure...in between R6 co-op :)

Rob and Zep, sorry for not accepting the invites earlier in the evening, but I was stuck on the final boss on the Casual Difficulty (yes - I'm not that good) and couldn't pull myself away until I had beaten that Raam bastard. I guess you guys were full by the time I finally blew his head off. I'll look for you again soon!!!

Thanks for inviting me into to those late night sessions guys.

Man, this game is just so freakin' unbelievable!!! It's interesting. Sometimes, when I take a break from a game that I have been playing the crap out of and then come back to it, it loses a bit of it's luster. This game has the opposite effect on me. It was cool to play an hour or so of RS6: Vegas and then jump into this one. RS6 is really cool so far and I am sure will be tons of fun over LIVE, but it made me realize just how different and amazing GoW is. It has a felling all of it's own while Rs6 feels like, well, RS6. Not a bad thing, but it makes the originality of GoW really stand out.

The other really cool aspect of this game is how we are really getting good at teamwork. That makes this game SO much more enjoyable. Of course there are times when it just becomes a free-for-all, but those are becoming fewer and father between (plus they can be fun and entertaining as hell!).

It will be interesting to see if our new found sense of team work translates into the adversarial matches in RS6.

I just think that GoW has everything going for it in the multiplayer realm. It has such a great mixture of tactics, violence, run & gun, graphics, weapons, teamwork, originality and most of all FUN!

It does not mean it is the best online shooter ever, it's just a wonderful breath of fresh air in the world of online shooters. You have traditionally had either the run & gun style (Halo) or military style (RS6 & GR). This one blends both of those aspects so nicely with a huge component of originality.

Thanks for a fun night, gentlemen, and for showing the ropes to a n00b. I really have fun and love the Halo/GR blend that Spooky mentioned. I will be sans XBox while traveling for Turkey Day, but can't wait to play online again.

No worries on getting the boot, I was going to have to sign off soon anyway.

Did they change the name to Rainbow Six Six? Just kidding Spooky. :D

Sounds like you guys had a blast last night. I was checking out R6:Vegas so I didn't join. Though it sounds like you had a full room anyways. Oh well, there's a long weekend ahead for some GOW,R6:V, and hopefully some SC:DA!

Best Teamwork night I've seen, which increases the fun factor exponentially.

Some of those standoffs were incredible fun (2 vs 1 at the bottom of the stairs, using a downed teammate as bait), others were 4-to-0 slaughterfests for each side. Pucker factor when I realized I was the only one left against a full 4-man team, taking 2 out with a torque bow and then getting killed because MY F*CKING KNEE WAS EXPOSED AROUND A WALL!!!

Communication is such a big part of the game. When we could pinpoint the location of a player and converge on his position, it was just over. Absolutely over.

...although coming around the corner in the level with the Helicopter and getting a Chainsaw up my groin gave me a good scare 8O

For the 30 seconds prior to that moment I was watching fshguy in spectator mode wondering "Why doesn't he fire? He's right there!" and then you walked up the steps and he fired up the chainsaw. 8O

Guys, great fun last night. Thanks for breaking my GOW cherry.

Once I had the mic working all was well. I was completely lost the first game.

How were you guys getting the sniper rifle and the hammer of dawn?

Zep, that last level was a riot. You guys had 3 on 1 against me and I saw you turn the corner. I hauled ass after you and chased you for almosta minute before I finally caught you with the chainsaw. I don't know how your teammates missed me during that time....LOL

I tried it again and found another person to chase...but Teal jumped out and chainsawed me to my deserved death.

Great great fun....I love the cover...I love how you can bounce around like bunnies...al Halo and most other shooters.
