If you can get the scratch, get the scratch. If I got one today I'd definitely sell it. At this point I know I'm not getting one for at least 6 months to 1 year when the systems should be better and the releases will be better. If you have a guaranteed Wii on Sunday this should be as close to a no-brainer as there is. As much as I'd love to hear your impressions, you can make $1200+ in 1 day.

I should also add that I'm extremely happy with my 360 right now and was not very impressed with the PS3 demos I played. That doesn't mean I hate the PS3, I do want one. I just don't see it competing for my gaming time at this point. In 6 months to a year more games will be released and the system will start to blossom like the 360 did. I definitely have room for 2 consoles as I had a PS2 and Xbox last generation (and a Gamecube for a year or so too) and I expect to have room for 2 consoles this generation.

Sell it.
There are two Sony Styles in my area. I'm targeting those because I can get $60 off using my Sony Visa card.
I went to the one which wasn't in a mall at 5 AM. There were about 30 people, some in blankets, many in chairs. They had been waiting since midnight, which was the earliest the mall would let them camp. They were told they only had 16 units. But more than twice as many camped out. Several of them had drove down 40 miles from San Francisco after seeing the madness at the Metreon in the city. It wasn't so bad, temperatures probably never dropped below 40 or 45 degrees.
A couple of mall security cops watched them from a parked pickup.
At about a quarter to 7 AM, they distributed the 16 wristbands but they told the rest of the people to hang on.
They gave everyone waiting a reserve card, taking your name and number. I'm number 19 but if they call before next Saturday, I'll be out of town.
I then went to the other Sony Style which is in a mall around 9:30 AM. Apparently, people had been camping at least a couple of days on the sidewalk outside the mall. The guy I talked to said he was number 18 and he had been waiting since Wednesday but there were only 16 units. This one didn't give out reserve cards.
If I had gotten one, I would have put it on Craigslist for about $1500.
If I couldn't sell it, I probably would have messed around with the demos and the downloadable games for a few weeks to see if Madden and NBA2K7 dropped in price. No way I'd pay $60 for Madden.
Definitely would have rented some Blu-Ray movies or pick some up at the Tower Records liquidation.
If I got a unit before Christmas, that would probably mean re-supply was good and there probably isn't a big aftermarket. I'd be fine with keeping it at that point.

I went to the Sony store here in St. Louis and got a reservation card. I'm number 11 on the current list. The dude working there believes the 2nd shipment will be around Dec 1st. They got 45 in on their first shipment so I might have lucked out, just in time to sell for a small profit by Christmas who knows.

That's why I don't understand why people don't just set a BUY IT NOW price...maybe 2,000 and require immediate payment. That way no one can end the auction without actually sending money. Sure, you'll probably miss out on a few end of auction snipers, but you're guaranteed to get your money...then you don't have to deal with all of the shady business.
Well, since only Badgun got the PS3 and hopefully will make some mula out of it, no one had any impressions today. I found this one:

And to add insult to injury for those fans that bought Resistance, apparently if you select 1080i as your PS3 resolution, the game will pop up a message when you boot the game that says the game requires 720p for mazimum image quality. If you can only do 1080i, the game will force your system into 480 mode. How could this happen?

DANGER Will Robinson! Looks like the eBay bottom has *already* fell out. I just watched a half dozen of them end in the $1-1.3K range (there are literally 20 ending every *minute*, unbelievable). Here's a sample:

As I predicted before this even got started... too much Willy Wonka bullshit to sustain all this...

I wouldn't say no one cares, because I am sure there are a handful of guys that would stick their noses for the PS3. The problem obviously is the availability or rather lack of at the present moment. But you're right, I suggested Scoop earlier that this is turning into a completely different thread than what it was intended to be.

Honestly, I think I would own one now if it had came in at the same launch price as the 360 even though I wouldn't be able to justify the purchase. However, i'll just get the Wii after Christamas.10spro wrote:I wouldn't say no one cares, because I am sure there are a handful of guys that would stick their noses for the PS3.
