Soup is the MAN. Unfortunately, I think he's pitching his way out of our budget for '07.

Nothing like watching your 17 million dollar man go down looking w/ the bases loaded. LOL...gotta love it. All is well in the baseball world...no New York teams remaining.

And FOX is scrambling for some interesting storylines to draw in fans outside of Michigan and Cardinal Nation.

Good game... I never understood why fans cry after a loss. It is a ball game, not like your grandmother or dog died.... There is always next year.

Cards and Tigers, both who almost choked their seasons away, going to the WS, wow. When was the last time a 83 win team went to the WS? or Won it?

I root for the NL in the WS , but it will be tough vs the Tigers.

Wow.....

Congratulations to the Cardinals. They deserve it.

That ends the season for the Mets, but it's the start of the rebirth for the franchise.

I'm proud of those guys, I had a incredible time following them all year long.

Again, congrats to the Cards and their great fans. I'll be pulling for them in the WS.

Congrats to Cards' fans for making it to the WS. It's not always a hit but I thought that with the sure HR robbery that E. Chavez took on S. Rolen and then to turn it into a double play, that huge play alone would ignite the NY hitters, but Suppan had other ideas.

Actually its not lame. You're the franchise player and how do you take a strike there? It's baseball 101, if it's close in that situation, you got to swing.

Only one team in history -- the 1973 Mets (82-79) -- ever won fewer games than this team and made it to a World Series. No team has ever won fewer games and won a World Series.

Mets fans - I feel your pain. It sucks watching the road team celebrate a series victory on your home field. Houston in '05, Boston in '04. If the Cards aren't going to win at all, I at least hope that Detroit wins it in 6 or 7 games so that they don't party at Busch.

Are you kidding me?

The guy threw a incredible hook. Give the pitcher some credit. Geez.

And yes, it's lame that Db finally decides to mention Beltran after him and the Mets whooped the Braves all year long.

I sense more bitter years for him since the Mets and Phills look like the teams to beat in the NL East for the forceable future.

Hey, atleast he has the Suns.

Bravo on taking the high road. I'm a Yankee fan, so while I've no love lost on the game, you feel bad to see the disappointment on the faces of all the fans and I do admire your manager a lot

Really quite the game seven though...

Congrats on the great season your guys put together and maybe our guys will hook up in the fall classic again some day.

What a series. Congrats to the Mets on a fantastic year. They persevered despite losing their two top pitchers, and still came in as the favorites in the NL playoffs. Can't say enough about Willie Randolph. He seems like a class guy and the Mets should feel fortunate to have him.

And thank you Atlanta for Adam Wainwright! Came close to blowing the game, but he kept his poise. Man, does he have a wicked curve. His fastball isn't bad either.

The Cardinals just keep backing themselves in to the next round despite what all the media experts have predicted. Detroit is going to be tough no doubt.

Yeah, I've never mentioned Beltran having a great year in the MLB thread. It's good to have selective memory when your star fails you. Trust me...I know all about it. The Braves do it yearly in the postseason. Easy buddy.

Narcissist!

Closers made a difference in the series. Willie didn't want Wagner in there in the ninth, and can you blame him? Wainwright was great.

And Beltran needed to swing.

Well, as a fan of the Cubs and WhiteSox this is a bad World Series for me. Two division rivals. Oh well, I hate the Cardinals more and Mags getting a World Series is definitely the lesser of two evils.
I am a patient boy.
I wait, I wait, I wait, I wait.
My time is water down a drain.
