Highlights of the game were shown on UK Tv because it was a qualification decider...at one point Micah Richards has to be held back by 2 teammates after reacting to something one of the German players has clearly said, and Anton Ferdinand is clearly shown complaining to the ref during the game.
"The players come from all over the world, the money from deep underneath the Persian Gulf, but, as another, older City poster campaign put it, this is their city. They may now exist in the global spotlight, but they intend to keep it that way."

i'm blaming Neville as well - every 8 yr old boy is taught when playing football at school always to backpass wide of the net, not at it.

If McLaren does see the qualification campaign through, it will only be because they can't find anyone else daft enough to do it.

Could have simply been mentioning something about his sister.

Someone should have told the PTI guys that keepers can't use their hands on back passes, not since.... well I don't know when that rule came in. 1995?

I think blaming Neville for not passing it away from goal is a bit silly. Defenders pass back towards their goal like that all the time because that's where the goalie is - in line with the goal.

Picking up backpasses was abolished in 93, from memory.

As for blaming Neville, it's not silly at all - you are taught by any decent coach when you are in primary school not to do it. After all, if you think that Paul Robinson is an overweight over-rated buffoon who can't kick a football, then what do you imagine that 9 yr old schoolboy goalies are like ?

Looks like Squid may be heading over to these sunny shores, as the Wednesday job is now vacant

I'm not surprised. None of this summer signings have panned out at all.

When does the sack tighten around Psycho after today's humiliation?

Take care,

Tactically inept, poor buys and signings coming home to roost.

If Allardyce gets the job, I won't take one second's interest in them until the day that he gets sacked

It be tightening around Roeder's neck as well...latest headline on football 365 was 'Roeder pins hopes on Dyer'. 8O

Not exactly the sort of reliable person that I would want to help secure my career anywhere, unless I was a surgeon, bar owner or lawyer perhaps.

There are also distressing rumours that Beanie the Horse, responsible for our victory over West Ham if you believe the Sunday tabloids over here, was last seen being dragged to the knacker's yard, and has returned to Stuart Pearce's desk as a pot of Evo-Stik.

LOL

"Daddy, where's Beanie?"

"Sod off! That was some dodgey ploy telling Daddy that the little bugger was good luck. I had him executed! Now go get Daddy a pint and go play in traffic!" :)

it's a shame, that thing was certainly our best summer signing.

Also managed to attend 3 games in succession, which indicates a level of fitness beyond anything that most of our acquisitions can manage.

Temperament was a bit suspect, mind you - hadn't blown his top once.

If it makes you feel any better, a team usually wins their game after a sacking!

Watched some EPL highlights over the weekend. Is there a better team than Arsenal theses days when it comes to crispy passes and beautiful goals? T. Henry is Hot.

Giggs was unstoppable vs Liverpool and when are the Hammers going to score a goal never mind win one. Did Defoe take a bite out of J. Mascherano?

I don't think I can watch that EPL review show anymore as the theme gets stuck in my head every Monday morning.

It's never been the same without Lionel Bienvenu. :)

Now being reported that the frontrunner for the job is Brian Laws, who famously once punched one of his own players in the face during half-time.
