Leinart was making his 2nd start ever against what is supposedly the best team in the history of the world, and he made a pretty good showing for himself.
Complimenting would be what Young and crew did, sucking him off would be what Tony did for 3 hours, which generally is what happens when you have nothing to add to the broadcast. If I heard him tell us no one though the Cardinals would be up 20-0 one more time I think my head would of exploded.

As for Leinart, played a great game but I have no doubt he will have weeks similar to what Grossman just endured. I'd take him in a second on the bears though.

On the strip, it was a big formation and James was being held up by two Bears while Urlacher just ran around the tackle and came from the side to strip the ball.

Who is coaching that line?
You simply can not run the ball consistently against the Bears, by lining up in 21 or 22 personel and trying to pound it in there between the tackles

I can't stand Tony K. but the whole no one would have believed it thing, he was right.

Hell, there were people questioning whether Leinart would even be alive after this game... I think Leinart surprised some people. Especially considered, the Cards can't pass protect that well and they were missing arguably their best WR.

As far as Leinart having games like Grossman, probably, but I haven't seen too many rookies play like he as in their first 2 starts of their careers.

Not my point, I know he was right but i didn't need to hear it 30 times. If that is all you have to add, then stick to the one thing you do best which is telling Joey when he is contradicting himself, that should keep him busy for the whole game.

I just turn the volume down. I don't like Tony K. as a writer, don't like him as a radio host, and don't like him on PTI.

No way I can take him and Theisman for 3 hours. I either listen to the game on the radio while watching on TV. Or just watch the game and listen to my Ipod.

I actually LOVE Tony on PTI and as a writer, but he's struggling to find his voice on MNF. He admitted as much in his column recently. He was clearly WAY over the top in his praise of Leinart. It's not that Leinart wasn't good, he was obviously stellar. Nevertheless, the effusiveness of Kornheiser's praise was just too much.

As far as Leinart's play is concerned, I think he was brilliant. But FWIW, damn near every analyst I've seen or read has questioned his arm strength. I didn't see him make a throw that proved the conventional wisdom wrong. That doesn't mean that he still won't be brilliant and successful. He just doesn't have a cannon. So what?

I just can't watch any of ESPN's coverage which involves Michael Irvin. He's worse than terrible.

Urlacher's performance was very Jordanesque. He just willed his team to win and made the plays they needed to win. I still can't believe they won.

Leinart played a terrific game. I definitely expected the Bears to rattle him more, but he looked a lot like Tom Brady back there (which makes me worried about the Bears facing Tom Brady next month). He's got an incredible future in front of him, and I hope he actually stays in Arizona and turns the Cardinals around.

I sometimes wonder how commentators and NFL managers can watch so much football and then have questions about a guy like Leinart. There are no guarantees in the NFL, but so many times people fall in love with physical attributes or nitpick physical "weaknesses" without considering the whole package. The bottom line should always be: can this guy play football? After watching Leinart's incredible career at USC, how could the answer be anything but yes?

Anyway, I'm glad the Bears have a bye to both take a breather and work on the terrible display by their offense last night.

I will take him over Joe Theisman any day of the week. I hadn't really watched much MNF this year, and I was dumbfounded at how bad that crew is. Theisman has always been annoying, so I guess that's no surprise. What shocked me was how much of Kornheiser sounded like a skipping record. I'm glad he praised Leinart for his job, but he just kept saying the same thing over and over. Your an analyst, not a cheerleader. They should fire both those guys and hire Charles Barkley. :D

When I was watching last night with my fiance.. they were showing a replay where Urlacher blew up a play in the backfield..... I said, "Look, they did not even block him.. not a chip, nothing.... how can you NOT block him."

It was funny after the game hearing Urlacher say the exact same thing.

I am still in shock that the Bears won last night. Wins like those are both ugly and beautiful at the same time. Ugly because the offense was horrible and beautiful because the defense and special teams did everything in their power to make up for it. The best thing about this game is the team learned a lesson in victory that most teams learn in defeat.

Leinart will be a very good quarterback in time. I saw him in the preseason game against the Bears and thought he would be very good. He had a decent overall game last night, not a great one. His first half was outstanding. He was 13 of 18 for 125 yards and 2 touchdowns. His second half was below average (11 of 24 for 107 yards). His opening drive was very impressive and his ending drive was nice, in between he was average. The bottom line is he was given the ball 6 times from turnovers and only put 23 on the board. In the end he technically did enough to win the game or at least give them the lead with under a minute left but he could have done more earlier in the game to put the Bears away. It's going to take time for him to develop into a good quarterback but he's in a good situation in Arizona. He's got 2 Pro Bowl receivers and a Pro Bowl running back. If they can shore up their offensive line Leinart can become something truly special.

What I learned from this game:
1. The Bears don't give up
2. The Cardinals don't know how to put teams away
3. Urlacher took his game to another level
4. Grossman is still learning
5. Even though I'm watching the game in the basement I am still loud enough to wake up my wife and daughter who are sleeping on the second floor. :D

That was a very strange game last night. I got home at halftime and was shocked to see the Cardinals up by 20 points. I ended up watching the 2nd half, and I must say, it looks like the Bears are blessed this year.

I can't imagine a more miserable franchise right now than the Cardinals. It was like the game was based on a TV script the way they kept bringing up Cards stats, almost like they knew they'd fold in the end.

The Cardinals have the worst running game I have ever seen in the NFL. I bet James is wishing he'd signed somewhere else right about now.

The Bears have an awesome defense. It reminds me of the Ravens around 2000, when they would outscore opponents with their D.

So how many years will it be beofre the scales tip back and the Packers are great while the bears suck?

Wow! Great game but my god in heaven, that absolutely horrific commentary damn near killed me.

The was the most offensive commentating that I have ever experienced. Bar none! Yet, (and I hate to say this), they actually kept me watching because they made it so over dramatic. I almost turned it off twice last night because I had a bad headache on top of the Bears performance and the commentary being so excruciating. But then they kept talking stroking Leinart’s dick and talking about how the Card’s can’t possibly blow this which made me keep watching just to see them potentially eat crow!

Anyway, the game was crazy, that’s for sure. At first I felt like the Bears didn’t deserve that win, but than I realized that it is no different from how they have been playing for the last couple years, except this year we actually have an offensive most of the time. They are allowed to have a bad day. That convinced me even more of what a great team they are. When one end is struggling, the other picks up the slack and makes things happen. I guarantee that we see another game this year where the opposite happens. The defense will struggle (maybe not quite as bad as their offense did last night) and the offensive will step up.

Agree-bad commentary. The line was drawn when either Kornheiser or Theisman said about Leinart driving for the apparent game-winning FG, "You have to enjoy what you're seeing here!"

Uh, nobody I knew was even remotely enjoying it.

Yeah, I think Tony said something like "How can you not root for Leinart?" Uh, it's pretty easy if you're rooting for the team he's against.

I understand talking about how poised and experienced Leinart looked. He really did do a great job on that final drive. The open rooting stuff was pretty bush league, however, and I think demonstrated that Kornheiseer is better suited on a show like PTI than the booth. And that's not just because it was against the Bears -- I'd feel the same way if they were openly asking for Chicago to win.

Denny Green's post-game meltdown was classic, right up there with Jim Mora's "WE SUCK" tirade:

I was at the game last night. It was one of the more unbelievable collapses that I have ever seen.

Cardinal fans are doing a nice job of packing their building and rooting out the people who routinely show up rooting for the visiting team. People in Phoenix LOVE any team from Chicago, however, which made last night even more interesting.

With the Cardinals up 23-3, everyone could "feel" the collapse coming. With 10 seconds left in the third quarter, I said to my buddy, "I don't have a good feeling about this." He replied, "I have a SICK feeling about this." And this was with the Cardinals up 23-3! Of course, Leinart gets sacked on the very next play and the Bears make it 23-10.

The most interesting part was in the 4th quarter when the Cardinals intercepted Grossman and ran it back for a touchdown. That was gameover, until the TD return was overturned on review. For a brief moment, however, the Bears fans were leaving in droves. A few plays later James fumbles, the Bears run it in, and I am not sure what happened faster....the amount of time it took for the Bears to run back the fumble, or the Bears' fans miraculously returning to their seats.

I wanted the Cardinals to win, but had a great time nonetheless. It was a memorable game in a fabulous new stadium. I am looking forward to watching the MNF broadcast today that I recorded last night.

One more thing. The local media is roasting the Cardinals today. They want heads to roll. I'm not sure that is fair. Yes, it was a colassal collapse. However, if the Cardinals had lost 30-13...as everyone predicted, no one would be saying a word. I don't think they should be criticized for being competitive in a game in which they were 11.5 point underdogs.

Is this Green's second or third year? His record isn't that good is it?

He might get a reprieve if they're able to sell out the new stadium this year.

But he's cut the cord rather quickly on some high picks, like Arrington. Or other young players like McCown.

Really would have been better off drafting or signing some linemen rather than give Edge the big contract.

The meltdown? It was when he was the head coach of the Saints, near the end of the season, from what I can recall. He was fired shortly thereafter.

An all-time classic.
