Wow, the Redskins really suck. I never thought it would get this bad in the third year of Gibbs pt. 2. Turns out, who knew, that Gerg Williams defense is one of the four or five worst in the league! I guess the evidence was there from his years in Buffalo. Add to that the lack of a competent GM, or really a GM at all, and it's clear this ship is going nowhere, but fast. Too bad, too, because with players like Moss, Portis, and Cooley, not to mention S. Taylor and M. Washington, one could have a competitive chance of making the playoffs. Not this year. Although, losing out of conference games rarely has any impact on playoff chances, but what these last few games show about this team indicates they are second rate, at best. Fire Williams, please, cut Archuletta, put Vinny Cerrato the (former 49ers) cheating slime ball out to pasture (better yet, send him back to his mentor in underhanded behavior who's now in Cleveland), and let's see in five or six years if the Danny can put together a competent football organization.

And the Seahawks are back in 1st! The only thing able to keep them out was a bye week. :D

This may end up being their biggest win of the the regular season. Beating a division rival on the road, and without Alexander to boot.

maybe they will finally learn that you build a team via the draft and SMART free agent signings.

Im not happy but I didnt expect to win. Im actually amazed that the Rams were in position to choke to the NFLs poster children for chokers.

Two things we learned today;

1) The Rams are pretenders.
2) The seahags aint sniffing the Super Bowl....This is the Bears year.

Finally....The Rams just aint gots no f***in gabagool!

Record with/without him? That's the only stat I care about. It's kinda telling.

Well, at least you got #1 right.

As for #2, They just beat a 4-1 team without Alexander. I expect their rushing game to get better the more games they play with Hutchinson. Once they learn how to run without him they'll be better. Plus, it looks like they won't need to rely on the run as much with their passing game kicking into a higher gear.

Which is scary, because the Chargers scored at will against the Niners today. Only had to punt once, Rivers had his first career 300 yard passing game, and the Bolts dropped 48 points on them.

The one thing I learned is, Bledsoe is done. He did enough not to lose his job which I was afraid he would do. He'll seal his own fate next monday nite when the G-Men come to town. His first read is not one of the best receivers in the league, it's to Terry Glenn. Glenn's no slouch but when the "player" has single coverage, give him a chance to make a play.

Some thoughts on my Falcons.

This offseason I was totaly hyped about our D. It looked soooo good on paper. During the first few games it translated onto the field very well. The falcons D only gave up 1 defensive TD in the first 4 games... Then the off week comes and the game today.... Well, we got gashed. It remined me of the Falcons D from last year. Now, we are a little banged up. Abraham is not 100% and neither is Kerney... and Ed Hartwell has been hurt since we signed him. I just hope this game is not the norm. I love good D and I did not see it today at all from my Birds.

On offense we looked okay running the ball. Warrick Dunn is a total prick though. 2 weeks ago vs Arizona Jerious Norwood set the franchise record for longest run in franchise history at 76 yards.. and that jerk Dunn broke it today with 90 yard run of his own. Horwood's rercord might be the shortest franchise record ever by a team over 30+ years old. Dunn looked so good today too. He broke alot of tackles et al.

Vick gets blamed for being a bad passer but he had quite a few balls dropped today including a would be 60 yard pass to Jenkins. The pass was so pretty. Until Jenkins and White start making the routine catches, Vick will continue to struggle and I don't think its his fault. The Falcons are missing Finneran more than I thought they would.

One bright spot on D is D Hall. The guy can cover very well and he does something that Primetime could never do... TACKLE!

Is there a more overrated player than Michael Vick? Great to see him on the cover of The Sporting News with the quote, "I am sick of people telling me how to play my game."

Take Vick off the Falcons and they are a 5 win team every year with any QB in the league except for maybe McNabb.

He has yet to have a losing season in the NFL on some pretty bad Falcons teams.. the year the falcons went 4-12, Vick was 3-1 as a starter.

I gotta go with BDunn...sure, he's a horrible passer, but more times than not, he gets his team in position to win. It's hard for defenses to cover everything, and with Vick, it's even tougher. Just his athletic threat wins them a couple games a year.

Generally speaking, when Vick plays the Falcons win.

His receivers did not help him out today, they dropped a lot of passes that would have been big plays.

Great passer? No, but better than he gets credit for, and more than anything else he's a playmaker.

But I think you could also say his inability to hit the side of a barn costs them a couple games a year at least.

He's clearly a special kind of athlete, and because of the Falcons offense, you have to take a stat like QB rating with a grain of salt, as they tend to run a lot inside the red zone. But for a guy who has been in the league as long as he has, who has started as many games as he has, he should look like he is improving as a passer. Instead, he almost seems to be regressing this year. He's completing 50% of his passes in his first four games. He makes some of the worst throws you'll see from any QB.

I just find it hard to believe that the Falcons are ever going to make it to elite status with a QB who is so erratic when he drops back. They have the defense and running game to be great, but their passing game looks like a liability.

Vick has the physical tools and his passes just zip effortlessly.

The question is whether he can master the timing of the West Coast offense they're trying to run (Greg Knapp is still the OC right?) or make the right kind of reads.

Most of the highlights of him involve the play breaking down and him freelancing, making plays.

I guess right now, the biggest strike against him is that before this last game, the Falcons were last in red zone proficiency.

Didn't Schaub show some flashes of proficiency when he's been in there? Not that the team is better with him than Vick but that Schaub seemed to be executing the passing game better some of the time?

I don't know how many Atlanta games you've watched this year, but what they are running doesn't resemble the WCO in any way shape or form.

Yeah, a bit.. but when Schaub plays, the Falcons don't win. I doubt Matt is around next year. I think he will get a chance to start somewhere.
