The problem with the Quick Charge Kit is that to duplicate the functionality of the Play & Charge Kit you have to buy another battery, since the Play & Charge lets you keep playing on with a drained battery. That brings the total to $42 for the Quick Charge versus $20 for the Play & Charge. In a day of $60 games, I'd rather put that money in other places... M$ is already ripping us off enough with $50 controllers. If the expense doesn't bother you, then the Quick Charge Kit is probably the superior, cleaner option.

you can always plug in a couple of AA batteries until it's recharged....cost about $3

I'm actually having the experience of the AA's lasting longer than the rechargeable...go figure...

The quick charge kit comes with an extra battery folks, if my memory serves the plug and charge kit did not. So it is exactly fair to say it is $40 + $20 for another battery.
