Thank God that Vikes' receiver dropped the pass with less than a minute to go against the Bills. That dude was wide open and was gone if Johnson hit him on stride and he caught the ball.

Phew!

Still, a decent victory for the Bills. I can't believe I'm saying it, but Losman actually is starting to show some poise and some command of the Bills' offense.

And I still stand humbled by McGahee, as I was a vocal critic of that draft pick three years ago. Now the guy is arguably the most underrated running back in the NFL. Dude is just money in the bank for 75-100 yards per game.

Still, the most improved part of the Bills this year isn't J.P. or the defense. It's the offensive line. Losman actually has more than one second to make reads, and large holes are opening for McGahee. I'm also impressed by the blocking of Bills' receivers on wide running plays. Hell, even Peerless Price is trying to block.

Huge test this Sunday against the Bears. A real measuring stick for the Bills. It should be a low-scoring game, as the Bills' defense is playing pretty decent, and the Bears' defense is, well, stupendous.

After that prediction, now we'll probably see a 35-27 game ... :)

Take care,
PK

The whole complaining about the refs thing is way past old already. If you are going to continue to take lame shots at the Seahawks, at least come up with some new material.

Was it EVER? After enduring 3 quarters of me screaming "F*ck you, Walrus" every time they showed his face, my wife finally asked, "What's your problem with that guy?". LOL

LOL, I'm still smarting from when he and the Pack whooped the Bears on MNF the night they retired Butkis and Payton's numbers.

BTW, I never thought I would ever, ever, ever utter this phrase, but I am looking forward to seeing Dick Jauron on the sidelines this weekend. The only thing better would be a chance to beat The Asymmetrical Mustache there.

To borrow a phrase from SFZ, can we not dork up the NFL thread with this stuff? Thanks.

Rick
It's not his fault(well kind of becuase he hired him)the blame should go to Mullarkey. This guy is an idiot and shouldn't even be coaching little league.Agian Brown is running well averaging 4.0 per carry and he gets the ball under 14 times.WTF.

The 2pt conversion call should have him fired today. What kind of half ass call was that?

Maybe the pressure form the south Florida media will force him to quit and get the hell out of football for good.

This season so far is like reliving the 2005 Bills season and their offense.

So who is the worst team in football? I'd probably pick the Raiders since they lost at home to the Browns, but at least they played. The Dolphins just look horrible. Are they already quitting on Saban?

On local talk radio, they were making the case that the days of the league once criticized for "parity" were no more, since you could make a case that there are at least 10 "awful" teams:

Raiders
Bucs
Lions
Titans
Texans
Dolphins
Browns
49ers
Cardinals
Packers

Again, I continue to blame the fairly new concept of "rebuilding" for all of the shitty teams. Rebuilding is the worst thing to happen to team sports in the last fifty years.

Tennessee.

0-4, including losses to very mediocre Jets and lousy Dolphins. Titans haven't scored 17 points in a single game, and defense has allowed 40 or more in two games.

Plus Fisher is suffering from delusional paranoia with the Nashville media -- http://thebiglead.com/?p=1089 . The franchise is a mess. At least Young offers some hope for the future -- maybe.

Tennessee can be summed up in the same two words that reviewed the legendary Spinal Tap's "Shark Sandwich" album: "Sh*t sandwich."

Now if only I could find my post explaining why he would be badass after about a year of off time to rehab the knee.

The Dolphins are clearly not quitting. Last year they started 3-7 and ran off 6 in a row (not against top notch teams, but still, it is the NFL). Mullarky, as I mentioned earlier, should be fired without a doubt. How many times do the Dolphins throw downfield to one of the top receivers in the league...oh yeah...twice. The offensive line surely doesn't help because they can't give Dante more than 2 seconds before he's got to throw it so the plays can't develope, but still...figure out a way to roll Dante out or whatever...something has to give. The reverse halfback pass on the tying two point conversion should be his ticket out of Miami. The Dolphins can't do the basics, what makes him think they can handle trickery? They have attempted two flee flickers in the past couple weeks as well...both went for NO YARDS because the defense is already in the backfield when the ball is handed to Ronnie Brown and he can't pitch it back to Dante. Yeah...good call Mike.

The offensive line is the worst part of the team and that's why they are losing games. If they don't get that squared away, it is never going to get any better. Dante isn't making the mistakes he made in the first two games so that's a good sign...but he's not getting any time to make people forget about the two games prior. He's just doing a lot of dinking over the middle (nice catch on the last drive there Marty Booker) and that is making it look a little better than it really is. The only problem is that when they get in the red zone, the little dinks over the middle are not there, resulting in them having to kick field goals instead of punching the ball in.

Until the offensive line gets fixed it's gonna be a long ass year. They aren't a horrible team when you look at them as a whole, but the offensive line is clearly the most important piece to a winning team and the Dolphins don't have that. Remind me again why they signed Hudson Houck...supposedly the best o-line coach in the league, to that ridiculous contract a few years back? Certainly there hasn't been any reward for that one.

Oh yeah...and Ricky just got injured again. Probably a ruptured achilles, which means he REALLY isn't coming back to the Dolphins next year if that holds up. Hopefully it was just partially lacerated. Somehow the locker room door attacked him, lol. What a disaster he is.

That explains a lot, DB. You look at those skill positions and what Saban did last year, and the start this year seems puzzling. But as Denver proves every year, you can do a lot if you block well.

You also have to consider the fact that Culpepper isn't 100% healthy. There's no way he can be with the surgery he had. He's not the same quarterback right now that he was in 2004. The problem is he wasn't the same quarterback before the injury either. You just have to hope that he doesn't get injured more this season or else his career might come to a quick end.

I feel DB's pain. Mullarkey never makes play calls that are smart. Instead, he makes play calls in a vain attempt to try and tell the football world: "Look how smart and creative I am. I'm the love child of Bill Walsh!"

Nice try, Mike, but none of your genius moves ever worked in Buffalo, and they're not working in Miami, either.

Mullarkey is like a sh*tty, overrated sports columnist who writes more to try and impress his colleagues than entertain and provoke thought for his readers. Mike Lupica of the New York Daily News clearly comes to mind.

Take care,

That list looks awfully close to the Bears schedule.

They have a pretty "light" few weeks coming up. At least we go to see what they could do against a real contending team last night. These boys might just be for real this year...

I always said take Moss away from Culpepper and you would see a completely different QB. And I'll stand by that until proven otherwise. The best thing that could happen is this makes Dante a wiser quarterback. Can't just chuck it up anymore.

And I give props to that little bugger Fisher for getting in Haynesworth's face. Haynesworth could've squished him like a flea.

Ya know, I just didn't feel like Dick Jauron was coming back until I saw the CBS Spotlight quote on his principal offensive philosophy, "It's ok to punt."

Welcome back, Dick. :)

And boy, have they employed that gameplan today. 8O I thought the Bills were improving the last few weeks - WTF happened?

As for the Bears, it seems that they really benefited from struggling thru last season without a QB and having to rely on defense and the running game. They must feel like the training wheels have been taken off this season. What a phenomenal start for them. Jerry A and Lovie have done a great job building that team for this run. Now they just have to keep Rex upright thru the rest of the year.

Bears!!

Oh well. I always say that you just have to be prepared to let a team score a TD every 3 games or so. Life is full of disappointment.

And on the bright side, we got our annual visiting team TD pass out of the way this week as well :D

Incredible performance by the Bears. No question they are the most complete team in the league right now. When you throw a pass and it gets deflected 30 feet in the air and still caught for a first down, you know it's your year.

Too bad the Titans couldn't pull off the upset of the year.
