Dumb Xbox 360 question

Post by pk500 »

Boys:

I'm sure this question has been asked before, but I've created a permanent personal ban on using the Search function at this forum, so please humor me: Can an Xbox Live headset from the original Xbox be used for Live gaming with an Xbox 360 controller and Xbox 360?

Thanks,
PK

Nope, they're different sizes. I strongly recommend picking up one of the 3rd party headsets, as I found the OEM one to be garbage. Planktronics has some gems.

The Premium package does come with a headset, FYI. Rob is right, it's not great, but I find it serviceable. The main issue I have is that I sometimes get an echo.

Cool. All good to know, boys.

The echo doesn't bother me. I get one with my current XBL headset, and as most of you know, I'm usually f*cked up enough when gaming online that the echo is irrelevant. :)

Take care,
PK

Taken from the 360 website:

Q. What's the voice headset like? Can I use my current Xbox Communicator, too?

A. We've eliminated the "puck" on the original Xbox controller, so your Xbox Live headset now plugs directly into your Xbox 360 controller. You can use your original Xbox Communicator headset, but you won't have direct volume control or mute capability.

Well having no mute is tantamount to not working. My Live opponents have no interest in hearing me swear at my wife and talk back to the voices in my head.

Need to raise the funds, first. I'm hatching various schemes this week. But I will not take any money out of our savings or checking for the purchase.

I need someone else's money, as usual. Working on it! :)

You can always pose as a 19-year-old whose videogame store is going out of business and scam people on Ebay. :D

Yeah, especially since my idea of posing as a 41-year-old Dirk Diggler clone won't work for anatomical and moral reasons. Mainly anatomical ... :)

Because it pisses off the artists formerly known as the thread police. :) Seriously, it was a joke.

If JackB1 promises to get drunk and entertain on XBL like PK does, then perhaps I'd consider helping him out.

In the meantime, anything PK needs.

Jack-

Your thug life, shorts-wearing character on Links is good enough for me. Of course, I have nothing to give you...

But want to play some Links tonight?
