Not sure if anyone cares, but the patch is apparently with MSFT now for testing / posting. This message came from an EA guy on EA's forums and was posted Friday.

I think I read the same message. However, I took it as it was "almost" with Microsoft and not done yet. We will see though. Testdrive was patched within 4 days. If it was truely done Friday it should be out in the morning at the latest. If EA's BS machine said the patch might be out before the game is out, I would hate to see what "almost" done means.

Their BS machine is in overdrive.

If they've released the patch to MS, I'm not sure what there is for them to be BS-ing about.

It did take longer than was implied from their initial response, but I don't think they just sat on their hands for a couple weeks for the hell of it.

Waiting for this patch has killed a lot of the enthusiasm I originally had for the game.

Hopefully it comes soon and does what it's supposed to do. I'm beginning to doubt it after hearing several EA guys claiming that they purposely toned down fatigue this year. It seems to have been a design decision not to penalize you for running with Tomlinson 11 times in a row, even though that's not how it works in the NFL.

My impression is that the patch will allow the fatigue bar to be a bit more sensitive, but I would be surprised if it changed anything regarding how quickly players actually fatigue. I guess good sub in/sub out sliders could disguise the problem.

Madden is not a bad game, but I'm pretty sure it will be gathering dust for me after NBA 2K7 comes out, patch or not.

Latest word is patch is tracking for the end of the week. Rumor is the patch fixes several issues, I've got an email to my friend at EA to see if he knows anything (which I doubt lol)

I haven't heard from him yet, but apparently EaMike posted on the forums that the patch addresses several items which he will be able to reveal later in the week. All in all it is sounding like a Friday release, could EA actually shock us and fix fatigue and add other improvements?

BTW this is me (Danimal) my account got screwed when I tired to update my email address. I'm not sure Jared can fix it :( Don't think I have ever been so depressed at losing an account.

It will be interesting to see what this patch addresses. There seems to be some major issues with the "awareness" rating progression in franchises that really affect teams two-three+ years into them, so a fix for that would be good.

I'm looking forward to the patch, as I'm a little bit hooked on next-gen football in a way I didn't expect. For now I'm happy to go through my Indiana U. dynasty in NCAA and build up a draft class for eventual use in Madden.

An IU dynasty?!? You are a glutton for punishment unless there's some "Randle El regains eligibility" bug :)

Ha... I'm playing on All-American defaults, and am doing all right. 6-2 so far, I think... I managed to upset Ohio State, which was very satisfying. However, If I were playing on Heisman, I don't think I'd have a single win!

Guys -

The 360 update is still tracking for end of the week. If anything changes on this, I will let you know.

In updating the experience that you guys have given feedback on, you'll see and experience the following:

- Increased impact of player fatigue in online and offline matches

- Updates for the usage of in game downloadable content

- Updates to ensure recognition of XBOX 360 achievements during online matches

- Correction of "Friendly Quit" pause menu issues

- Optimization of server game reports

Thanks and I will follow up with a status later in the week.

No patch is out yet and today rumors are surfacing of late Novemeber.

So I emailed my buddy and he said he couldn't comment on it which I though was really weird.

If that's the case, so be it. There'll be plenty of trade-in value for it, and there are tons of game coming out in the next few months that will keep my interest.

I guess EA wasn't kidding when they said they were on a three-year plan with next-gen Madden.

My guess is they patched it and Microsoft Testing found something it didn't like or Fatigue is not fixable (which was my thought all along).

Remember they need this patch to sell marketplace content so it will happen, right now they are probably in spin mode trying to figure out how to tell people we can't fix fatigue to 08.

If Ortiz is the producer of Madden 08, then I'm not buying it. To leave fatigue out of a game is just insane and shows a total lack of understanding of the game you're making.

I knew when I saw a Major Nelson interview with a Madden 07 team member and his experience was that he talked football to an EA guy while he was bagging his groceries and then got hired as a tester (now producer) that trouble was ahead.

You mean they can't give (or sell) people the alternate jerseys without a patch? Or did I interpret this incorrectly?

That is my understanding.

Also this was just posted at the EA forums

Guys -

I've seen some posts on other boards saying that the patch was delayed until November. This is not true.

We're waiting to hear when it will be accessible via XBOX Live and at the same time pushing tomake sure it gets out to you as soon as possible.

Apologies for the delay and also for the delayed messaging over the weekend.

I've warmed up to it, there is a lot to like and a lot to dislike. But playing a franchise without fatigue is just not giving me great enjoyment, so I hope this patch does come out.

I also don't like not being able to edit players, some of the ratings on guys are weird. Davis on the bears is listed as the 5th wideout and is like a 62 overall in the last roster update. Meanwhile he is #3 on the Bears RL depth chart. So while i could move him to #3, he has 2 or 3 guys rated higher then him. so I'm not so much bitching about the 62 but the fact that then the other two guys should be lower. Not being able to change that kind of sucks.

I'm not. Even though I like the PC version, there's just too many other options right now. Dawn of War Dark Crusade, Company of Heroes, NBA 2K7, LEGO Star Wars II and NCAA 07 Xbox (not to mention my nightly WoW run) all have a combined monopoly on my time. Just a case of not having enough hours in the day, I guess.

I played it for like a week, then too many other games have started coming out. I'll wait for a patch and get my NFL fix in Nov/Dec like I did last season when I waited for the 360 launch for Madden.

Actually came close to trading it in, but decided to hold on to it for the patch.

I don't think it's a bad game, I just think it could have been so much more. You look at the attention poured into a game like NBA 2K7, and here we are, over a month after it's release, and we're waiting for the biggest sports video game company in the world to put fatigue in their game.

I'm not anti-EA this or pro-2K that, but it really just smacks of laziness and arrogance on EA's part, and it's annoying.

I had just got my 360 back and before even getting into Madden, my attention was taken by the hockey games. Then my 360 went bad again. When i get it back I will give Madden another shot - but my attention may end being taken by NBA2K7. With College Hoops, Gears of War and COD3 coming down the road, I had better give it a shot when i get my 360 back in 1.5 weeks.

I'm absolutely playing Madden. I'm pretty much on a three game rotation with Madden, NBA 2K7 and NHL 07 right now. The latter two are getting more time, but that will change. I continue to be very happy with Madden-yes, fatigue would be nice, but it's hardly a game killer for me. No audibles from the playcalling screen, on the other hand...
