Folks:
We are prettty much done with the season, but there are a few games left in the top division. I would love to see all the games played if possible, regardless, but all that's at stake really is 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place among Monaco, Lazio and Boro.
StevieG: are you still involved in the league? You haven't played a single 2nd-half game yet, and I haven't seen a post from you in a while. Your Inter side still have a chance at promotion, so I would love to see these games played, but you'd need to get them done very soon. If we don't hear from you by tomorrow AM, I will go ahead and finish off the schedule.
I want to thank everyone involved for another great season, and in particluar Jason for his excellent league module and all of his extensive assistance. Thanks Jason!
Look for a 'congrats' thread tomorrow, in which I will be recruiting any new members, and think about if you want to change teams for next season, and, if in the lower two divisions (yes, that means you too, squid), if you want a team from the Top Tier or the Second Tier. I'd want everyone to post in the congrats thread once it's up, confirming you're still in the league (or will be leaving the league if that's the case
), and what you want to do about your team.

Was a very good game...fast paced end to end action...fanatic wrote:Match Report

In a tough battle between D3 teams Fiorentina and Arsenal, a couple of well struck goals proved to be the difference.
In the 15' minute, Fiorentina's Fiore fired a Free Kick over the Arsenal wall in an outstanding effort. The goal seemed to deflate the Arsenal defence who gave up another score on a well taken volley from Pazzini from a cross into the box.
Arsenal had their chances but Henry could just not get on track on this evening.
Again..good game XXXIV.
Totally FUN game!!! and YES WE WILL RETURN TO KEEP DIV 3 ALIVEXXXIV wrote:In a tug of war between DIV 3 permanant powers, Arsenal and Real Madrid, the inevitible happened...A draw....Aresenal took the lead on a Ljunberg goal in the 59th minute only to see Real Madrid coming storming back and score in the 60th as Beckham(NOT HIM!) retaliated...

Fab. Bastard, have you received any response to this at all to this? I'd love to see these games played, but we can't wait forever.FabulousBastard wrote:PIGPEN and SQUID.... last chance for me to play is late afternoon or evening today. If you can make it, pick a time and PM me please. In general, the later the better for me.

Awesome, awesome, awesome! Sounds like we will have all games played soon enough! These games will determine 2nd, 3rd and 4th place in the top division, so while not critical, I for one think they do matter.pigpen81 wrote:FB....tonight I play Jared at 7:00 Pacific and that is all I have time for on a school night....can we play Tuesday at 7:00 Pacific?
Start thinkink about if you guys want to change teams. So far I am sure squid and Fab. Bastard will be changing up, but who else?
Also, it's good to see XXXIV trying to get his games in. I thoght we had lost you for a while there, buddy, but alas it looks like it's young stevieg who has fallen through the cracks.
Snate: the game works for both Xbox and 360. I've played league games on both. Once these final games are taken care of, I will put up a new thread, announcing to the rest of the forum and congratulating the division winners, teams promoted and relegated, etc. In that thread, I encourage all new comers to sign up and let me know what pool of teams they want their randomly assigned team to be drawn from, the Top Tier of the best 15 teams in the game (recommended for those who play offline at 3* or lower), or the much larger, more varied Second Tier. We try to accomadate all interested players, and let the mechanics of the league deal with deabeats by doling out forfeits after the half- and full-season deadlines.
We'd love to have you! (And you others, you know who I'm talking to, Seth

I feel that my repeat has established a new benchmark for excellence.Zeppo wrote:[Start thinkink about if you guys want to change teams. So far I am sure squid and Fab. Bastard will be changing up, but who else?

Great game pigpen. This one really went back and forth, with both teams hitting the woodwork multiple times. A well-deserved draw.
As for next season, I'm in...but I want to see the team list for next season to see if I should roll the dice.

Cup SemiFinals
The SemiFinals of the Inaugural DSP WE League Cup are set:
Bayern Munich got past Man City in a game that was screwed up by the host (me) forgetting to set the extra time. After a first half goal by City, Munich found the equalizer from Ballack late in the match. The game ended in a draw, and so it was decided that rather than do a full replay with the proper settings to do a game at 10 min. setting with PK immediately after. And wouldn't you know it, Man City found the net first again, this time off an own goal from a wicked tripple-B-button cross near the line from Sinclair that riccocheted off of Kahn and into the hapless Munich defender, who with the help of a push from Fowler, forced the ball into the net. 5 minutes later, Ballack repeated his first game heroics with a classy goal, and the match was sent to PKs. In the PKs, both teams were perfect for the first three rounds until Reyna hit the crossbar. Somehow the ball boucned off of the keeper but not into the goal. Munich hit their fourth, and it all came down to Musampa. His PK hit the crossbar, and this time the thing bounced right back towards the center circle, and Munich was on to the Cup semis, denying Man City any kind of double.
Good luck in the Cup; let's try to get this done before the next season starts, so we can do it again in Season Five!
