It's at the American Muscle shop, among the other American classic cars.

Every time I buy a car it puts me in it right away. That's pretty weird.

It is putting me in the car...I just cant drive it...I know have both Nissan 350zs and neither will drive...I can turn the wheels though ....Im so confused

EDIT: Update and info I left out....It now let me sell the first Nissan...oh and it will let Me race them provided I can get them to the race...but free drive wont work unless its directly out of the garage. if I use the map the Nissans just die.

Weird is the word.

I guess Nissan reliability ain't what it used to be :)

And I finally found the paint shop--had to do the Race Around the Crater event and finish first to unlock it. Did put a sweet new metallic finish on my Camaro, a dark blue with a green "shine" when the light hits the metallic paint.

Well, I messed around with it a little more, and I can't get my challenges to show. They show up under MY challenges, and 'time left' decreases as if they were active, but no one can see them as active.

Oh, and my money is also gone. I lost some $120,000 in offered prize money, so hopefully I get that back if the challenges expire with no one having run them.

BTK and myself spent the better part of an hour or so last night running instant-challenge races. What an absolute blast!!! He had his Camaro, I brought a Stingray and we just went race after race, alternating who chooses a random spot on the map to race to.

Highlight of the night (for me, anyway): I'm trying to draft him, closing up so close that I'm bumping him and can read "Z28" on the rear of his car. I'm really trying to pull up tight, I'm still trying to figure out why. Caught up in the moment. Anyway, he swerves right sharply, and all I see are the headlights of a Tow Truck or something. I slammed into this thing at full speed and never saw it coming. I literally jumped in my seat, it was hilarious.

This game gets better and better.

34, were both cars in the same class? I'm thinking it won't let you have 2 of the same class. I know they make it a point of telling you to make sure the car you buy is in a class you need whenever you go into a dealership that sells cars in your class. Just an idea.

Guys I only got to play this game for 20 minutes last night but i have a question. WTF does the rental car go? I rented the best car I could find for 20 days and now i am stuck driving some POS cross between a car and a pickup. :)

That's not it. I have several E-class and G-class cars. XXXIV are you sure you are starting the car before trying to drive it? If it lets you drive it out of your garage, but not after you check the map, it may be that you aren't starting it, because out of the garage it is already running. Just a thought.

I had that happen to me last night. No matter what car I was using, I'd spawn and couldn't do anything; couldn't change cameras, couldn't accelerate or steer...but I COULD move the camera around with the R stick, and I could zoom to the GPS map.

I just jumped back to the dashboard and reloaded the game and it went away.

You didn't rent it for 20 days....you rented it for 20 minutes, and it's gone during the tutorial. The " 20' " is 20 minutes, 10' is 10 minutes. It basically gives you more time to wander around if you want before you go to your house and continue the tutorial.

So, in a nutshell...you're stuck with the SSR (at least it sounds like the SSR from your description).

Thanks, guess I should read the manual or something instead of just winging it.

Lots of good information here guys. Thanks. This is the type of thread that is the reason I stick with DSP forums for my gaming reviews, news, etc. Anyway, who would have thought a Test Drive game could end up being the 360 system seller for me. Anyone tried the PC version?

No.

It doesn't release until the end of October, unless I'm mistaken.

I didn't even know there was a PC version!

Looks like guys are starting to get their invites, as the club continues to grow. Has anyone actually met there and started a race? It looks like one guy will select the race, and all the guys in the club at the time can do it.

Mix, Fish and I messed around for a little bit last night, testing some of the options for "locking" players. It seems like it works OK, provided you don't enter a building or warp to another area of the map. Once you do you have to try to get close to them again and lock them all over again. Once locked it seemed good though, we were able to talk even when we were not right next to each other. I'm still waiting to see how to ensure that you only see your friends list on the road with you, that would be handy for any poker nights (although maybe thats what the clubs are for?)

If any of you see me driving around during the day, slamming into buildings and traffic, and driving on the grass, it's most likely my 3 year old daughter, who loves to drive the cars... she's just not real good at it yet! (And I now have a handy excuse when I screw up in a race, I'll just say she was racing!)

Terry got so owned on that one! I was thinking to myself just before his collision, "Oh yea TC, you like beating me by 1500 yds each race....well watch this sucka!!!". It worked beautifully, set him up perfectly!

Oh yea, to add some flavor to your instant challenges or other races that include traffic. Have part of the route include a one way road, where you are going the opposite direction of the oncoming traffic. Adds some nice moments. :D

Also, if it is out of stock you can reserve one. When one comes available a message will pop up while you are playing saying the car you reserved is available.

I finally found the club last night and just looked around at the options a bit. I saw an option for inter-club challenge and might mess around with that tonight. Will it let me set up a time trial only for the club members? I have what might be a really cool trail in mind that I'll either set up there or as a random drive-in challenge.

My son's a racer too. We should have a DSP offspring race set up...

If you want to do something just with club members, make sure to do the intra-club stuff, not the inter-club stuff. Inter-club stuff will be between two different clubs.

I popped in the clubhouse and it was neat to see the intra-club list was functioning. I didn't see how to start an in-game chat, but it did seem pretty easy to do some head to head racing, at least.
