can watch any of tonite's games.
Currently watching Barca tonk Levski Sofia 4-0.
Also glad to see that it is being played in a torrential rainstorm - it was 28C and sunny over the weekend

"The players come from all over the world, the money from deep underneath the Persian Gulf, but, as another, older City poster campaign put it, this is their city. They may now exist in the global spotlight, but they intend to keep it that way."

I know that they were playing Moscow, I was referring to the fact that they were not on TV.fsquid wrote:They are playing Spartak Moscow, I was being sarcastic!
As to my experience yesterday, total rubbish! I was watching the Inter-Sporting match on Deportes (it was shown on delay), and the ticker across the bottom of the screen shows the final score five minutes into the match.
Hope they will fix this problem soon, or I may need to cover up the bottom of my TV.

Apologies for the spoiler, though i suspect that my gaffe only affected those who were betting on the weather in Barcelona, rather than the result or the score

They've been doing that forever, I don't think it's going to change. Just get some 2" black paper tape for next time.Programmed2Kill wrote:Dear God, ESPN did it again!!!!!!!!!!!![]()
Those bastards scrolled the score of the Lyon-Real Madrid match! I swear to beans ESPN are the dumbest folk on the planet.

That is my plan for next week.
Avoided any problems last night by just watching the Man Utd. v. Celtic match and skipping Madrid v. Lyon (after watching the highlights, seemed like a smart move on my part).

Just put duct tape all over the screen.Programmed2Kill wrote:ESPN screwed me once again.
Watching Man U vs. Benfica, I put duct tape at the bottom to cover the scrolling updates.
What does ESPN do?
Instead, they show all the scores FULL SCREEN FROM THE DAMN STADIUM SCOREBOARD!

Knowing City fans, if we got to the CL the attendance would slump massively, on the basis that it no longer provided the existential angst that all Mancunians require.
It is worth pointing out at this point that, unlike Sheff Wed, we do have a European Cup Winners Cup trophy in the cabinet (1970)
