Madden 07 (Xbox 360) Thread

Well, now I've started to have freezing but only in a specific situation. It happens when I select to train before a game, and it always happens after the first play of the WR mini-game. Otherwise I've never had the game freeze, but the thing really makes a lot of noise in the 360's drive, much more than other games. I wonder if I have a bad disc?
After playing a few games...Its grown on me in a big way....I like this game...its freaking fun and it does feel like NFL football as much as a video game can, at least to me...
I actually like that its just about the football and not so much the extras...
I am worried though that next year they will replace superstar(ZZZZZ) mode with Terrel Owens I am a piece of human s*** mode....

anyways, try playing online. I took it online with randoms over the holiday and had a blast. well, except for that one game against a cheeser.

a)he is a piece of s***.
b) some of the new stuff they think of is just plain stupid.
2) Online randoms are a frigtening prospect. Never know what you will get. I played one random with NCAA and got a cheeser.
If Madden gets a patch it will be a decent football game. Not great because of a few issues but very good.
If I had to rank this years football titles it would be.
1)NCAA XB
2)NCAA 360
3) Madden 360
4) Madden XB
I think they need to tweak a few things regarding Madden but its still a very playable game. The fatigue issue thought downright ruins the realism for me.
I've went back to NCAA XB, and it's down right a near perfect game. But we have 4 very good football games, each a little different. Too bad we don't get to see what NFL 2k could have down on the next gen.

Well, the inital shine has lifted and I'm finding myself turning off the game at half. EA has really laid an egg in terms of presentation. It's just awful. Not only is the commentary pitiful, but the stat overlays are cr*p. Man, they need to overhaul the presentation and atmosphere. They've got the dough and the ESPN name. Now, they need to incorporate it BIG TIME.MizzouRah wrote:If I don't see a patch soon, Madden will go back for something else.
I guess I've also grown bored of the same Madden engine year in and year out. I don't know specifically what they can do to be innovative, but they have to take a risk every once and a while. NHL 07's use of the right stick is innovative. Lets see Madden come up with something fresh!
I never cared one way or another about gang tackling before, but now there's no excuse not to have it in a next gen football game. It just looks strange always seeing a player being tackled by one other player. Kinda gives you the feel that it's a one on one game where it's completely the opposite.
I think I'll most likely trade this game in for one of the hockey games. I'm a bigger football fan than hockey fan, but I'm a bigger hockey video gamer than football gamer. Make sense?
Makes complete sense. I'll probably do the same. I wanted a good 360 football game so bad this year, but it looks like I'll continue with text sims for my football needs.sportdan30 wrote:Well, the inital shine has lifted and I'm finding myself turning off the game at half. I'm pumped for next week and the hockey game releases though!

You can't really mean this, can you? You may not enjoy or even use the new additions year to year, and they may not always really work too well, but to complain that they don't try to add anything 'fresh' is pretty unfair.sportdan30 wrote:I don't know specifically what they can do to be innovative, but they have to take a risk every once and a while. I definitely think the vision cone was innovative--it just wasn't well-received so EA is already pushing it out.
It is funny that so many people complained about 06 lacking innovation while also bitching about how much the vision cone sucked.
I played a little Colts-Giants today and the Colts offense was in complete "Foxboro in January" mode under my control. Yikes, had to be one of the first times my team was completely useless on offense.

Hi all,
My first post here.
And already I have a question:
Since I'm from Europe (Amsterdam to be exact) American Football hasn't been a big part of my youth (or the rest of my life for that matter). But I really like the sport and have played Madden games on all my consoles since the Megadrive (or Genesis as they say overseas) days.
The thing is, I know the rules, I know some obvious tactical stuff and plays, etc etc. But what I lack whilst playing the videogame version of this great sport is knowledge about playing defense.
So what I'm asking is this: are there some superbasic tips about playing Madden (I've got the 360 version) on defense.
Thanks already!
ps: If you want to know anything about wooden shoes, pot smoking or the red light district, I'm more than willing to give you some tips

There are vague reports on OS that claim EA is shooting for a roster update (and possibly the fatigue patch) sometime next week. Nothing for certain, though.Diablo25 wrote:Any idea when an official roster update is due? I looked everywhere in game and couldn't find anything. Nothing on Marketplace that I can see.
Madden continues to grow and grow on me. It needs a lot of slider work, but I've been happy with my set. Good stuff.
With EA football the only thing that really matters is speed and every other attribute means very little. It is still the same old same old and very little innovation after all these years. It is sad that there is no good football game this year. Madden 07 360 is not terrible but it is not really a good game. Someday there will be video football game alternatives to EA football but it will take a little time so just be patient. I doubt that a football simulation will ever come from Electronic Arts.
Thank you!Jared wrote:Welcome to the forums bef.
What kinds of tips are you looking for? Advanced tactical stuff? Specific gameplay tips? Or something else? Let us know...we'll be happy to help.
Mmm, let's see. Things like the differences between a nickle and dime defense, when to use a zone play instead of a more man to man defense.
Also, as far as button bashing is concerned: is there a sure shot button to be used when on d? I mean, just like when pressing the sprint button when rushing the ball? And what about controlling players: it always gets pretty hectic when you have to defend, whereas on offence you just pass or hand off the ball to a rusher and concentrate on that. So when on defense I never know which player to choose...
Ahum. That's a lot of questions. Ah well, thanks for your attention anyhoo!

Seriously, there is a lot to do without getting in too much trouble. It's fun just to walk through the Red Light District after a few Palms.
