06/07 DSP Pro Football Pick'em

Post by snate »

I have set up a Yahoo group for us. Here is the league id and password:

http://football.fantasysports.yahoo.com/pickem

Group ID#: 55706
Group Password: football

I set it up so the deadline to pick each game is 5 minutes before kick off, so if people miss tonights game they will only be 1 game behind and not 1 week behind.

Fee? Or are we just going to make the pot optional like the EPL fantasy league?

Cool, thanks Snate.

Just remind everyone to use their screen names so that we can figure out who is who. Easier that way. Everyone so far has done so.

I joined even though I abhor picking with the spreads as I think it involves much more luck (the reasoning being that the point spreads pretty much makes every game a "pick em").

Woah, I didn't realize we were picking with the spread. I already made my picks with the straigt up winner. I'll have to change my picks if that's the case.

Hence the name of the contest.

We are using spreads. The spreads are listed right next to where you make your picks. I personally think it is more interesting and skillful to successfully pick games with spreads than without.

Lets make it pot optional like the Premeirship League.

Top pot contestant wins pot.

Send $11 to my paypal account to enter - snatex@hotmail.com

Just send your screen name and DSP - DO NOT SAY THAT IT IS FOR A LEAGUE OR PICK EM, etc.!!!

Dumb question but pot optional means I CAN PLAY BUT IF i DON'T CONTRIBUTE i don't win any money right?

When is the money due, I don't even think I have a pay pal account anymore.

Snate, I don't have a paypal account, would it be a pain in the a** to pm me an address I could mail a check to?

If it is, just delete me from the group, no big deal.

True. I'm game and it is interesting, but you can never convince me that it requires more skill than straight up picking. We may as well have Zeppo roll that 20 sided die right now to see who will win IMO. :D

I'm not implying that gambling on football doesn't take a modicum of knowledge, but I've never met anyone in real life that made money bettting on sports that bet on every single game. When you pick every single game like this it pretty much evens out and the luckiest person will win.

I made my picks and I am trying to send the PayPal money, but I am having issues with Paypal and maybe someone can help me out.

I have two paypal accounts registered to two different email address, this happen by mistake. neither one of them has a bank account or any credit cards associated with them.

One of them has a 50.00 balance in there, someone sent money to it for winning a contest. Anyway I am tryng to send the 411 from those funds, but when i go through the intial setup for sending money it then asks me to input a credit card. WTF, why won't it just use those funds? do you need a card on file to use those funds?
