Well, I've been looking through the guide, and so far it looks like only the USA games are on ESPN/ESPN2 (I can't remember). A number of other game seem to be on NBA TV, but I don't get NBA TV and don't know how much it would cost me.

I'm very excited about the future of USA Basketball and international hoops in general. This USA team seems to be gelling quite well under Coach K. Giving up 100 to PR isn't the best sign. but at least they scored 111.

Still can't shoot the outside jumper...Only one player coudl shoot and that was Joe Johnson...Wade, Carmelo, and Lebron had very weak games including LBJ badly missing a three point shot in the fourth quarter.

Key part of the game last night was when Paul was on a 2 on 1 with James as the trailer and Paul tried the grand Ally-Opp and they did not connect but LBJ got the rebound and put it in. THe game at this point was like a 15 point game with 10 minutes left. Not the time to be fooling around throwing ALLY-OOPS, just get the two points and get on Defense. This is the type of thing the USA team needs to stop doing or it will be a short exit in the elimnation round when they will face good competition like Argentina.

Just got back a couple of hours ago from the city of Sapporo on business where I managed to watch 2 games. Team USA's win over PR was closer than people think, they were a bit nervous, maybe first game jitters and the best player out there was L. James by far. The US started with Chris Paul, James, Anthony, A. Jamison and E.Brand.

Puerto Rico's main man was C. Arroyo (he was outplaying Paul) who plays for Orlando. In the second half of the game, Puerto Rico seemed to be running out of gas and was losing its concentration, making cheap turnovers and missing open shots as team USA took adavantage.

Also watched Argentina defeat France in the city of Sendai led by Ginobili.
Surprisingly for being the country host, I didn't see the enthusiasm this tournament would have gathered in NA, and in the papers it's only third in terms of coverage after baseball and soccer.

You do know the USA hosted the WC in 2002 in Indy and it was an absolute disaster in terms of attendance!!!

I think your out of luck my friend. I don't think they're even offering games on PPV. Only on the fiba.com page.

Down here we are getting all Puerto Rico and USA games for free, plus all games form the 2nd round 'till the finals.

This is only for cable tv subscribers. No luck for DirectTV or Dish subscribers.

If i where a Rocket fan, I'd be very happy with Yao's improvement.

I just saw him dominate my boys with 29pts with an asortment of post-moves. Plus, the guy is starting to look like a real basbetball player phisically, not a stick figure.

Anyways, Puerto Rico was able to edge China in OT. 90-87.

Arroyo went off again with 25.

Man...USA looks TERRIBLE tonight. Turns out one of the best NBA players is NOT a good FIBA player. Lebron is shooting the USA OUT of the tourney. Down 10 in the 3rd...and it's only that close because 'Melo is going nuts.

I guess year 1 of the 3 year USA Basketball plan was a failure. Losing to Spain or Argentina is one thing...but Greece? Eeesh.

Why am I not surprised by this comment?

Greece is a up and comming powerhouse who btw won the Euro championship.

This is not a surprise for most of the basketball world.

Guess Wade, Lebron and the other stars miss the NBA officiating. Guess coach K couldn't teach those superstars how to defend a simple pick-and-roll or the 3-point line. Or how to shoot free-throws. Snort.

How long a drought is this for the US? How long ago since they won the Olympics gold or the World Championships? Was the Dream Team the last US Olympic Gold winners?

If an NBA All-Star team can't win in international competition, can the NBA champions be rightly called the world champions?

I watched the game today and I think this loss can be blamed on a few people (Not an excuse at all). Coach K had no answer for a High Pick and Roll for the entire game. There is no way the Greece team should be able to run the same play for 3 quarters and score 85 points in 3 quarters of Fiba basketball which is only ten minute quarters. Greece averaged 81 points a game going into this game. It was too easy for Greece.

The NBA has ruined the sport of basketball. There is zero teamwork neccessary to play in the NBA. The players in the NBA are poor jump-shooters thus the reason why we continue to lose in these tournaments.

Also, Greece has zero NBA players on their team but that is EXTREMELY misleading. There are about 4 to 5 guys who have turned down the chance to play in the NBA because they get paid more in Europe. Why make the league minimum in the NBA when you can make 15 million dollars a year playing in Russia and it is tax-free.

Also, I don't know if the Argentina vs Spain game is ever going to be replayed but It might be one of the toughest games to watch. Both teams wanted that game so bad and it really showed in how they played. It is a real pleasure to watch teams like that go at it and care about winning.

Greece is underrated IMO but they were shooting 3 pointers at a 44% rate. US had no defense against that and like someone said earlier no team work. Spain pulls a slight upset and it's an all European final.
