Which is perfectly acceptable.jondiehl wrote:The only time where it might seem like a team is doing this is on many of the play action passes. I might point out that Yankeefan4444 was a super nice guy and I really don't think he was aware that he was exploiting a flaw in the game. He was simply doing something that he had discovered that worked with quite a degree of success. I eventually just started blitzing my corner from that side and was able to get quite a few sacks on him as well as a pick. Again, he was a really nice guy and I would never label him a cheeser, but I felt it was worth mentioning to Bill since it clearly states at the bottom of the bracket that this was a no-no.I only had a few questions re: the scrambling rule. (Yankeefan4444, who is a buddy of mine, failed to grasp this rule Wink
This is basically just a common sense house rule. The idea is to play like real football and not take advantage of the game's bad secondary AI by taking the snap, and immiediately sprinting with all gusto out of the pocket and throwing on the run play in and play out. It makes passing incredibly easy because the secondary, particularly on default settings, gets lost when the QB starts to move.
*This does NOT mean you cannot run with your QB. You can.
*This does also not mean you cannot rollout with your QB on designed plays. You can do that too.
*Finally, this also does not mean you cannot run out of the pocket to avoid the rush and still pass the ball to whomever you wish.
The only time that a red flag is raised is if you see a QB take the snap with the sole purpose of running like a madman out of the tackle boxes just to gain an advantage on shoddy default level programming.
Like I said this isn't coming up much at all (and Badgun beat the tar out of Joel despite him doing this) but I just wanted to throw the reminder out there for everyone to keep it clean. Smile If we could alter sliders online this wouldn't be such an issue.

Yes, excellent game, close the whole way. It came down to the 4th quarter, down 31-28 and Mizzou forced a punt with a few minutes left but Utah held us down.... I used a timeout and forced another punt, but once again couldn't work the ball into FG range and was forced to attempt a long 4th down conversion deep in my own zone. I failed, and Utah easily put the game away on the next play with under a minute left on a TD run up the middle. Still, with some time left a timeout or two, we went bombs away and finally got into FG range but couldn't get it done in the end. Fantastic game though.Slumberland wrote:Utah over Missouri, 38-28. In the spirit of keeping the last shred of self esteem I have around how about we refer to it as the last chance bracket from now on?hoosier4974 wrote:Rallymonkey, I added you to my friends list. We are scheduled to play (Ohio U. vs Fresno State) in the losers bracket.
When are you available???

Sounds good. Tomorrow night should work well for me; really that's the only choice, either that or maybe tonight after 10 could work too. Friday night won't work as I won't be home until likely 4AM or so.Badgun wrote:Zeppo,
I need to play between now and Friday. I'm leaving Saturday for Disney World for a week.
I'll hop on XBL tonight if I can when I get back. If that doesn't work we can nail down a time for tomorrow.

I hate this f'in game!Bill_Abner wrote:Rob -- I heard a nasty rumor that UTEP gave up 28 4th quarter points to lose 52-42 last night.
Say it ain't so..

On a more serious note, this is like my 4th straight game that was plagued by heinous lag and slowdown. I don't know if I've been playing people with poorer connections or if it's a server thing, but it's getting really frustrating. Flatus scored one TD on a cross-field pass that took about 30 seconds to go from QB to receiver, with me unable to assume control of the closest DB. Tired of playing games in molasses.
Other than that, the tourney was a dream come true for me. Thanks, Bill

I havent had any real lag yet but 3 of my game between this tourney and the league have frozen...RobVarak wrote:On a more serious note, this is like my 4th straight game that was plagued by heinous lag and slowdown.
