No worries about the Washington owner, we played and he's sim all the way.

Anyways, he destroyed me on the ground!!!

Here's the game details:

Washington/Ohio

Final 41/16
First Downs 10/6
Tot Offense 369/272
Rushing 34*226*(3 TD's)/17*104*(1 TD)
Passing 8 of 13, 143 yd (2 TD)/9 of 24, 168 (1 TD)
Turnovers 2/3

Ohio basically was plaqued by a weak run defense and a bad case of the dropsies on offense. Must have had 4-5 drops when my player was wide open !!! Totally unaccepatble

No stats to share but Wake Forest nipped Western Michigan 17-10 tonight in a helluva good game. Todd was hit with a rare Offensive PI call late in the game...causing much joy for the Wake Forest coach. :)

In a first round game Pittsburgh holds on to defeat Boston College 20-17 in a very well matched up defensive game. Pitt scores first with a 33 yard field goal and that would be all of the scoring in the first quarter.

In the second quarter after both teams trade field goals the Panthers score the games first touchdown with a 72 yard pass from Tyler Palko to receiver #4 Joe DelSardo to give Pitt the lead at the half 13-3.

After a scoreless third quarter Pitt took a 20-3 lead with a short run for a touchdown. Boston College was able to score on two touchdown passes from quarterback Matt Ryan, one 19 yarder to HB# 30 LV Whitworth and a 20 yarder to receiver #26 Tony Gonzalez. With BC unable to recover the onside kick with 45 seconds to go Pitt was able to run out the clock with a couple of kneel downs. Great game TrojanMan.

Pittsburgh
Total Offense 290
Rushes Yds TD 27-83-1
Comp Att TD 6-14-1
Pass Yds 207
Turnovers 1

Boston College
Total Offense 269
Rushes Yds TD 19-77-0
Comp Att TD 16-33-2
Pass Yds 192
Turnovers 2

Kansas State 24
Arkansas 7

I dont get the stats mailed to me so I wrote down a few.

Halfback Thomas Clayton had 137 rushing yards on 23 carries while Allen Everidge was 14 out of 19 for 155 yards and 3 TDs. Kansas State marched down the field on its first drive and never looked back going up 17-7 at halftime and adding another score in the 3rd quarter to put the game away. Arkansas was led by qb Casey Dick who was just 7 for 19 for 181 yards. Halfback Darren McFadden had 20 yards on 7 carries.

Total offense

Kansas State 287
Arkansas 172

All in all it was a good game seeing how Im not too fond of the 360 version. For some reason the game felt like it played more realistic against a human opponent as opposed to the CPU. I really enjoyed playing the game for once and I probably would not have picked it back up had it not been for this tournament.

Utah over Maryland, 31-17. Very good game. Maryland actually edged Utah in total yardage, 297 to 265, but three interceptions by the Utah defense changed the course of the game after trailing at halftime 10-7.

Northern Illinois at University of Central Florida

UCF wins 30-28. It was a back and forth game with no turnovers. In the end UCF's option game was too much for NIU. NIU couldn't make the big stop at the end to get a chance to win.

That was one HORRIBLE game in terms of lag...eh Dan? Good game man...absolutely EVERYTHING went against you. You didn't get any breaks whatsoever. The lag certainly didn't help AT ALL. Oh well...good game anyway man...it was fun. Wish the lag was a little better, that's for sure.

Yeah the lag sucked, I've never actually played a game that bad with lag yet. That was my first time playing with TCU and a 4 -2 -5 Defense. Apparently they can't stop much of anything.

I don't know what the deal was...I played a few games last week with my buddy and it was flawless. Oh well...it was shitty for both of us at least.

Yep, Lag didn't cost me the game. Watching 5 DBS get the snot knocked out of them on run plays was probably the biggest factor :)

That one play you ran was just a simple Dive out of the I, your guy broke throught 3 guys and jumped over another one in full stride and I watched your Guard just destory my safety. It was probably one of the coolest plays I've seen so far.

Yeah, that was awesome. I didn't have to break any tackles though...it was a simple counter play to the right and I bounced it outside a little bit further and just followed my guard...who like you said, destroyed your safety. After I jumped that little pile it was off to the races. That was a pretty sweet looking play...I really didn't have much to do with it unfortunately...the guard was the star, lol.

Hey guys,

Thanks for helping to get this off the ground.

We have 1 more game in round 1 (grtwhtsk1 vs Kobe8). Hopefully they can get that done ASAP -- in the meantime please check the brackets for your next opponent as well as the home field designation (H).

http://ootp.hugginsweb.net/%5Cfiles%5Cbrackets.html

Some great games in round 1 with a 2OT 44-41 thriller, some huge blowouts, and some defensive struggles. Great stuff.

Cheese complaints were very few, as I expected with this group of players. We only have a few fresh faces in the tourney and so far things have been played very much on the up and up which makes the games more enjoyable for everyone and I appreciate it.

I only had a few questions re: the scrambling rule. (Yankeefan4444, who is a buddy of mine, failed to grasp this rule ;)

This is basically just a common sense house rule. The idea is to play like real football and not take advantage of the game's bad secondary AI by taking the snap, and immiediately sprinting with all gusto out of the pocket and throwing on the run play in and play out. It makes passing incredibly easy because the secondary, particularly on default settings, gets lost when the QB starts to move.

*This does NOT mean you cannot run with your QB. You can.

*This does also not mean you cannot rollout with your QB on designed plays. You can do that too.

*Finally, this also does not mean you cannot run out of the pocket to avoid the rush and still pass the ball to whomever you wish.

The only time that a red flag is raised is if you see a QB take the snap with the sole purpose of running like a madman out of the tackle boxes just to gain an advantage on shoddy default level programming.

Like I said this isn't coming up much at all (and Badgun beat the tar out of Joel despite him doing this) but I just wanted to throw the reminder out there for everyone to keep it clean. :) If we could alter sliders online this wouldn't be such an issue.

Anyway, feel free to start scheduling and playing your round 2 games.

And good luck.

Dan -- Todd (W. Michigan) is on vacation this week and should be back Friday or Saturday, FYI.

The only time where it might seem like a team is doing this is on many of the play action passes. Alot of times, the QB's animation after the fake handoff will take his momentum one way or the other for a designed rollout.
