OT: Talledega Nights

Post by JackB1 »

anyone else see this yet? pretty funny flick. I would rate it in the same level as "Anchorman" or "40 Yr Old Virgin". Dont expect any realistic Nascar action though....it is 100% fictional all the way. I mean he wins a race going backwards for Gods sakes! I was a little disappointed that they didn't at least make the actual driving parts more true to life. Lots of great funny lines peppered all throughout the movie.
If you liked the above 2 movies I mentioned, then by all means go see it.

No way.

At least I don't see it that way. It had his moments, but I found "Virgin" and "Anchorman" a lot more funny.

BTW, saw The Descent this weekend. Very nice thriller/horror film.

Oh no, I didn't think Anchorman was funny (but 2nd viewing seems to be alot funnier, so weird).... I was hoping this to be good. Well, I will see it anyway.

I liked anchorman, but I did not like this flick. Most of the funny stuff had already been shown in the previews. I was very disappointed. I almost walked out.

Won't be watching this movie as I am so tired of Will Farrell and his "schtick". He began to bore me well before he even started doing movies.....

I agree that this movie isn't as good as anchorman (though anchorman gets funnier every time you see it--maybe this movie will be the same). What surprises me a little bit though is that Will Ferrell's and Sasha Cohen's performances were underwhelming, and it was John C. Reilly and Gary Cole who made the movie.

The funniest thing to me was his little red haired kid.

I enjoyed the movie quite a bit, but agree that Anchorman is better. I think Anchorman is one of the funniest movies to come out in a long time though.

I too was a bit underwhelmed by Sasha Cohen's performance.

If you guys are looking for a hysterical, uplifting movie (with spots of depression and sadness mixed in), go see 'Little Miss Sunshine'! Easily the best movie I have seen this year. I had tears of laughter, joy and sadness throughout the film. Truly an all around great film.

I will scissor kick you in the back of the head!

I definitely enjoyed the movie. Had some dull moments but also had plenty of parts that cracked me up.

Dying to see "Little Miss Sunshine" but gotta wait until my girlfriend gets back from London. I've heard comparisons to Election, one of my all time favorite movies.

Didn't think Anchorman was very funny. The jokes got old real quick. 40 Year Old Virgin on the other hand was great. I'll probably rent Talladega Nights.

I saw Talledega, and if you're into his brand of kinda stupid silly humour, you'll like it. I know we all laughed our asses off the whole time there.
