And one day, the UEFA panel decided to include AC Milan back into the Champions league.

And Juventus are appealing again against their punishment, and say that they will go to an administrative court if this appeal is turned down.

At this rate, the 2006-07 season will kick off in 2008.

You seem a little parochial, Squid - there's some great stuff in La Liga in particular.

Here's an article written by an American about the Sheffield Wednesday tour.

Good read - the only time I went on a preseason City tour was one playing Serie B teams, about 10 years ago. Because Italy is so much nearer, there was about 1,000 - 2,000 City there, depending on which game you were at.

Visiting grounds for whom 3,500 is a big crowd was an eye-opener...I still shudder when I think of some of them. The Italians were non-plussed, and usually friendly enough once they'd got over the surprise, although there were some nasty moments at Livorno, where they assumed that the sky blue gear sported by the City faithful was actually an invasion by their hated enemies Lazio.

Good luck to the Owls this season - I think they are predicted to finish mid-table.

Looks like the Magpies are going to sign Tavano.

He was excellent for me for a couple years in WE9 :)

Look forward to it, vamos Boca. Coach A. Basile will assume one more month of duties while he gets ready for the National Team next month. Who'll coach Boca then? Rumours of Maradona are abundant...

And in McClaren's new England team, D. Beckham is not part of it. Not yet anyways.

Squid, have your lot managed to squander a quite remarkable number of chances, finding new and ever more comical ways to fail to score and missing three penalties on the way, including two in one match on the opening day?

My lot have...

More than Hartlepool United can muster, all the same. The strikers are all armed with banjos, yet the cow's arse remains untroubled. On top of that, since our relegation we're apparently subject to a transfer embargo since our wages exceed the cap for League Two clubs - until we offload, we can't bring in. Despite that, Pools have apparently had a cash plus player offer for Julian Joachim rejected prior to his eventual move to the dreaded Darlington.

Edit: There's a Premiership thread somewhere else now, we don't have to keep it all in here - I was asking for predictions but run along, nothing to see here...

Before I go, I'd like to share the crowd reaction to Colchester man Kem Izzet's yellow card at the weekend as Graham Poll returned to domestic action after his three card trick at the World Cup:

"Two more, he only needs two more..."

Nope, Colchester were a Championship club last time I looked. Not that I look there too often these days, with my club marching in the opposite direction as they are.

We could end up turning this thread into quite the lower league love-in if this keeps up. I think we're only a certain MK Dons supporter away from our full quota of regulars.
