Links 2004...........final verdict, anyone?
Haven´t really heard as much as I had anticipated on here about this title. Golf is probably my favorite video gaming of all, is this game worthy of the investment? Thanks.
Best single player console golf game on the market. Throw in the fact you can play it online and there is no comparison.

Unless you´ve got a decent PC, in which case TW 2004 is the best golf game...period.

enough real courses and a "woodsesque" career mode?

It is the best console golf game I´ve played since PGA Tour Golf on the Genesis. I still play it fairly regularly, although there´s just a few things missing. Some of them I can put my finger on (like only using half of the thumbstick´s Y axis for its control zone), but others that I can´t quite figure. I don´t think it´s ball physics are as good as Tiger 2004´s on the XBox.

About once or twice every round I hit a shot that´s just way off the chart in misery. It seems that there´s a breaking point that is reached disproportionally. Once you´ve hit it, you´re going to go from missing the fairway and landing in the rough, to missing the next fairway, and ending up in the one next to it!?

I admit that I´m probably less than average in gamepad ability, but I don´t see the balance in the scale of Links 2004´s controller programming at times. It seems to be either a believable miss, or a grossly exaggerated error.

Keep this in mind though... I only have two players - one with 7 skill points (for when I get to play in the Skill 7 tournaments) and one with 17 skill points. This is slightly less a problem with the 17 skill point player, but the rest of the game will begin to get too easy if I raise any more attributes.

Having said all that; I´d still buy the game again knowing what I know.

Never played a round of real golf, but love Links 2004. It is one of the few games that had me hooked immediately.
