Seriously, I wasn't trying to cause any problems. I didn't have a chance to download the demo yet. I am just wondering if the quick clock thing only happens if you press A -- if you let the huddle break animation happen, is the time factor still an issue?Badgun wrote:Wow, you are just full of solutions, aren't you? Do you not see what kind of havoc this creates with time of possession and game stats? Hell with online, this directly affects how your dynasty plays out. How would you like to be playing in your conference championship game and if you win you go the BCS championship game, but you get beat because the CPU went 80 yards in 26 seconds with no timeouts? This is the kind of crap that happens.

Goodbye preorder, hello GameFly.
If the demo is any indication, the new NCAA is going to play like Madden 360 (which I hated). Madden 2006 for Xbox was one of the best NFL games ever, IMO... but I was very disappointed with the 360 version as it felt more like 2k football than EA. Looks like NCAA has now gotten the same treatment, so I'll be renting this one first for sure now and will only buy it if a solid league gets going.

Totally disagreee. Did you play the Madden Demo before the retail copy? Retail and Demo were night and day. Madden 360 wasn't good by any stretch but it wasn't as bad as people made it out to be. To say that NCAA got the Madden treatement based on the NCAA demo is more than a stretch.Looks like NCAA has now gotten the same treatment, so I'll be renting this one first for sure now and will only buy it if a solid league gets going
Because I'm tired of people using the "just don't use it" reply as a fix...it's not one.Danimal wrote:Jesus dude he asked a simple question, no need to fly off the handle like that. Can anyone else chime in on the post corner routes.I've read multiple impressions that say they are money and even manually controlling the db is futile.SoMisss2000 wrote:Of course there are those at OS who hate the demo. One guy said he is cancelling his preorder.
This game is going to own me based on the demo. There is a lil bit of a framerate issue as the game opens to show the stadium. I like the running game. Mario Running is still there but it's not as bad. The offensive line is solid. The passing game is solid. I see some new animations that look nice.
I like the new player models. They look nothing like Madden's player models on 360 and that is a good thing.
The only problem I see in the demo is the post corner route. I was able to complete those passes just about every time.
I'm going to take the demo for what it is. I expect it to be more polished in the retail version. EA probably just wanted to show the graphics with this demo. I know someone with the retail 360 version. I'm going to see if he'll download the demo and compare it to the final version.
Can't wait til Tuesday.
It does play a lot like Madden 360, which I hated, but I enjoyed every aspect of this demo with the exception of the stupid clock management think, which apparently we're stuck with. My son is getting a free copy of the 360 version, but I will now be buying and playing the Xbox version.jondiehl wrote:Goodbye preorder, hello GameFly.

Yes, if you let the huddle break and don't hit A, the play clock runs down naturally, but you can't do anything about the CPU getting back to the line in 2 seconds. It just totally screws the game for me.Brando70 wrote:Seriously, I wasn't trying to cause any problems. I didn't have a chance to download the demo yet. Well believe it or not a lot of people probably want to skip the walkup. I agree with you, it should work like it always had and that is just speed up the walk up animation a little.Badgun wrote:Because I'm tired of people using the "just don't use it" reply as a fix...it's not one.Danimal wrote:Jesus dude he asked a simple question, no need to fly off the handle like that. Having said that I still think his questions was innocent.

I thought that the whole time management issue in Madden would have been fixed for NCAA. Not only do 11 men line up and are ready to go in seconds, but they do it after a 30 yard completion.
While this is not as big an issue with me as with some, it can ruin a great defensive battle. How many times in past NCAA games have you played a tight field position game against the CPU with a score like 10-6 after 3.5 quarters only to have both teams score 3 times in the last 2 minutes???

Played the demo.
EA continues to be the scourage. While the game is pretty fun and doesn't seem obviously broken w/ bombs and scrambling, the graphix and the frame rate are piss poor. I can't almost bear to play sports games at 30 fps (if its that). Clearly not as fluid as any 2k sports games. The stadium cut scenese are horrendous w/ flickering and jaggies that look straight out of ps2.
Clearly this is from an engine made 10 years ago.
There seems to be just a haze or something over the game making it look a bit off.
Not nearly as bad as Madden, but EA never fails to be as lazy as possible.

No, I didn't play the demo before the retail, as I picked up the retail on launch day, along with my 360. Sure, games can be cleaned up from demo to retail, but it's still going to be the same at it's core and we're not going to see some completely different looking gameplay engine next week with the retail copy. It will likely run smoother than the demo, and look prettier perhaps, but the core of the game shouldn't change that much (which is more like Madden 360 than NCAA 2006).SoMisss2000 wrote:Did you play the Madden Demo before the retail copy? Dookiemowf at OS has 360 retail. He posted that against man coverage, he completed aout 5/10 post corner route passes. Against Zone, that number wend down to 2/10.skinsfan wrote:Can anyone else chime in on the post corner routes.I've read multiple impressions that say they are money and even manually controlling the db is futile.SoMisss2000 wrote:Of course there are those at OS who hate the demo. This game has gone from Madden-weary buy to a buy.
I thought that Madden on the field last year played a good game. Not really excellent but decent. NCAA seems from the demo seems to have all the nuts and bolts in place. Screens work. Quick passes work. It has a nice touch system. Overall I'm happy with that demo. Heck I'm more sure I'll spend 60 on the 360 version - before it was a must buy.
One thing that is bothersome with the 360 EA Sports titles is that the controls feel sluggish. I don't know if that's because of the controller or the game. Madden had a horrible feel. I felt disconnected with the controls. NCAA has a similar feel.
I'm a little worried about the other features in the game, however.

According to the three guys posting over at OS that have the actual game...only one camera angle.Sudz wrote:is that true?tjung0831 wrote:Only one camera angle and a bad one at that is a game killer for me. No way in hell I buy this game now. That is a travesty for a next generation game.

It's true in the demo but I don't know about the final release. I'm not about to sift through that long impressions thread at OS to find out. The camera angle didn't bother me at all though so I'm not worried about that. The demo didn't let you change any options or even see what the options were so that doesn't mean it's not in the full version.Sudz wrote:is that true?tjung0831 wrote:Only one camera angle and a bad one at that is a game killer for me.
