Right. That's pretty much what I am thinking. I was a fan of Madden last year, so I'm sure this will be fine. As long as they didn't spend all of their time just getting the teams/stadiums/etc. in the game and less time tweaking for the college game. We'll see next week.
And BTW...the playbook system sucks my ass. Who the hell designed that?
I don't think this is Madden, not entirely at least. The graphics are improved with nice touches, but suffer from frame-drops in a way Madden didn't.
It's faster and smoother in the gameplay department (perhaps the trade-off for the lost frames?) It feels more like a traditional Madden/NCAA game than Madden did; the controls are more responsive and the overall feel is 'tighter' than Madden was.
I'm not in love, but I'm definitely encouraged and certainly still planning to pick this one up.

"Can't we all just get along? I'll turn this car around RIGHT now!"
One of the big critiques I've read from those that have played the game for the 360 is that the game seems too offensive-minded (too easy to complete deep balls) and the AI is a little off when compared to the current gen versions.
For what it's worth, I didn't find these possible issues really jumped out at me in the little time I've spent with the demo.

not to mention that Madden 360 wasn't as bad as it was made out to be, but bad nonetheless. The final version was head and shoulders better than the demo. Fight Night retail was better than the demo, and from what I hear, NBA Live 360 was way better than the demo.
It's difficult to really make a sound judgement on the game thus far. We don't know how far along they were in development and how it compares to the final retail version.
From what I've played, I'm not overly excited about it but it's certainly not a disappointment by any stretch of the imagination. There's new animations and it definitely looks great, but nothing jumps out at me as "I gotta have this game now!" I think at this point, I'm willing to wait a few days after release and renting it.
I'm a bit aprehensive about purchasing it simply because it's the first NCAA Football game on the next gen console. I feel as though Madden will be a bit more polished and complete. It better show a marked improvement. Also, my past experiences tell me that once Madden is released, I'll be more apt to play a NFL game than a college game.
I haven't played the demo yet, but a buddy of mine who has had the PS2 version for nearly two weeks now and is eagerly awaiting his 360 copy isn't fealing the 360 ver at all.
Says it doesn't play nearly as well as the curent gen ver, but admits it's hard to tell from 1 min qtrs and doesn't know how early / late of a build it is.
He absolutely loves the PS2 ver this year, and hasn't really liked the game since 2004.
One interesting thing in the two demo games I played. First game blocked PAT, Second game Blocked Field Goal. Those were with the straight standard FG Block play and me doing nothing.

Oh yeah since this is the Marketplace thread, there is a movie of the Mass Effect E3 Demo walkthru. Even if it's not your type of game, you should watch it to see what next gen graphics should look like.

Word is themes and gamer pics for NCAA are up. I've seen some of the gamer pics, and they don't have the nasty EA Sports name written across them like some of the other sports titles at least.
Man, I really screwed up today on Galaga. I had over 90k on my first fighter, but only ended up with 98k after all 5
Besides a Steelers gamer pic, Galaga was my first Arcade purchase but since then I bought the PSU theme, pics, and Geometry Wars. Pac Man and Lumines are a given when they roll out.
I've been waiting for Galaga- favorite arcade game ever. Mass Effect looks fantastic, but the combination of poorly written dialogue and awful voice acting takes a lot away from the graphics. I'm not sure I could listen to 40 hours worth of the stuff.
