The guy is way overrated in this game. My only problem is that the Milan defense is very porous against the through ball.Zeppo wrote:You don't actually have a choice, since Feyenoord's stadium is in the game. It's only those teams whose stadium aren't in the game that get to pick one.FabulousBastard wrote:Oh and I guess I'll take Rotterdam stadium.
And yes, Shevchenko is a MARKED MAN!!He's goin' DOWN!

Results get posted here, and the data is inputted into the SGN league module. The module keeps the standings tables, but we can't keep injury info there and such.FabulousBastard wrote:Just to check... we post results here or on the league page or both places?
And so. . .
Manchester City got off to a good start in their first game, a visit to the Nou Camp to play Barcelona. The visitors settled in nicely under the clear skies and never looked troubled on their way to a 2-0 victory. City opened the scoring in the 38th minute thanks to Vassel, who had come on for the injured Fowler, when he pulled out of his hat a surprising shot from the top of the box while being muscled by a defender. Somehow it went in, and the teams went to halftime with a score of 1-0.
The second half saw end to end action as Barcelona opened up, looking for the equalizer. In the 76th minute, Sibierski blasted a free kick from 31 meters into the upper corner of the goal, and the score was 2-0. Despite the efforts of a very active Ronaldinho, Barcelona could not narrow the gap before the final whistle.
Barcelona 0 : 2 Manchester City
MAN: Vassel (38'), Sibierski (76')
Bookings: none
Injuries: Fowler (MAN), yellow
So, the die roll was a four, meaning Fowler misses one game, that game being:
Manchester City 1, Bayern Munich 1 in a rough and physical game played at the new home for Man City, the Rosunda. Against the run of the lag, Bayern Munich scored first. Late in the half, in the 41st minute, Makaay barrelled through two defenders to knock home an errant pass from Salihamidzich (sp?) that had deflected off a happless City player.
In the second half, the home side were also able to produce a goal against the lag (which was minimal, really. . . ) to equalize the game in the 63rd minute. Sinclair was the one to put it home, after some nice combination among three players resulted in a perfect set-up from 12 yards. The final half-hour of the match was frenetic and physical, as both teams fought for every inch they could get. Despite the physical play, few fouls were called, however, and no players were injured. The game ended with the score knotted at 1, and so the teams share the points and look forward to the return match in the second half of the season.
Manchester City 1 : 1 Bayern Munich
MUN: Makaay (41')
MAN: Sinclair (63')
Good games, both. Really, it is great to play more guys online, and with no lag; the game is so different depending who is playing! Good luck through the season, and see you in the second half.
