I was just about to post about this also. I think it's BS. I never understood that neandrathal mentality in baseball.
Hadn't checked this thread in a while but I wanted to clear up that he was not sent down because he failed to bean a guy. The Sox had just acquired pitcher David Riske in a trade that night and he was going to be sent down the next day regardless. The fact that he was going to be sent down the next day is why Ozzie put him in to do it in the first place.

Any of you Chicagoans see the third inning of the Cubs/Tribe game last night?

Man, that was ugly.

Btw, as lousy as the Cubs are playing, everywhere you looked in downtown Cleveland this week, you saw Cub fans. Pretty impressive.

Sign Mr. Guillen up for sensitivity classes. What a joke of a individual this guy is. I'd be embarrassed to be a fan of his. Seriously, how can White Sox fans defend him?

That said, there's no doubt the Sox are a much better team than the Cardinals at this point. Better lineup and much stronger pitching. I sure wish the Cards had traded Mulder back when he was 6-2. They could have quite possibly acquired a good outfielder. Oh well. It's all hindsight now.

More ramblings.....

Is Wood done? He's look to be at least done with the Cubs.

If people speculate about Pujols using HGH, then I'll throw Clemens in to the mix as its been rumored for quite sometime hes used either steroids or HGH. Throwing 90 plus at 43 years of age? Again, these are unsubstantiated rumors. Nothing has been proved regarding either player. It's unfortunate though that any player who plays at a high level is now looked upon as suspicious.

I will agree that its unfortunate...but thats how it will always be from now on....I see what you see in regards to Clemens.

My problem is that I think the media and MLB have once again buried their heads in the sand.
For Example Giambi is as big as he ever was and not a peep from ESPN about him.
Wasnt he part Of the whole Bonds and Balco scandel??? I know he is not going after the HR record but Cmon the guy isnt a nobody and he had the same supplier as Bonds.
Is the intent to scapegoat Bonds and sell us this crap that with his eventual retirement baseball will be clean?

I have never defended him. Thats how he is . Says anything that pops in his head. Hes a nutjob. A nut job who won the World Series...
The only reason people arent going after him is that the team is winning.
Winning sure does have a blinding effect.

The White Sox sure are tough. Last year, I was really hoping the Cards would have had a chance to play the White Sox in the World Series, but I really don't think the series would have been a close. Chicago is just a much better team.

The upside for the Cardinals is that Anthony Reyes looks like the real deal. One bad pitch to Thome and that's the ballgame. Still, he pitched a gem. A one hitter. Hope he stays healthier than his former teamate, Mark Prior. On the flip side, Garcia pitched one heck of a game as well.

I'm glad Pujols is back in the lineup, but I'm wondering if it's too soon. The Cardinals trainer told LaRussa he needed another day or two of rest, but LaRussa disagreed and played him anyways.

Who would have guessed Mulder was injured (sore shoulder)? Just about everyone except for LaRussa and Duncan. They thought he was just in a funk, or that's what they were telling the media and fans. What's up with managers and coaches trying to be so protective of their players.

Classy welcome to C. Delgado by the Jays' fan as he big slugger made his first trip back to TO after he left the Jays a couple of years ago. T. Glavine pitched a jewel, Mets won 6-1. I haven't seen this Mets team so good for a long while.

Ahh, perhaps Albert is back. 4-4 with a dinger. The Birds still lose as Carpenter struggled. The Cards are in real trouble. All of a sudden, no one can pitch except for Reyes.

And hit grand slams in THREE consecutive games against the bullpen-challenged Astros. If Houston does not address their bullpen, they won't be making any runs to the playoffs like they did the past 2 years.....

All you gotta do is see last years Nationals...somehow stayed in first for a majority of the year and then just finally ran out of gas because they didn't have the talent the other teams in the division have. Same thing will hold true with the Tigers.
Hasn't started happening yet.

The top three AL Central teams are all on ridiculous runs right now.

The Twins have won 18 of their last 20 games but I don't know if they even made up 2 games on either the Tigers or White Sox.

Don't see a real chink in the armor. They still have Dimitri Young sitting out but ready to go. Pitching, hitting, defense, they seam to be the real deal.

Baseball denies playing favorites....

http://msn.foxsports.com/other/story/5758372

Usually I would ignore the likes of a Canseco but in this case I just see MLB as what they are.... They are full of s***. Straight up liars and cheats.

They have gotten rid of the bloated druggies that testified before congress and have scapegoated the one superfreak to sell us the fantasy that baseball is now clean.... ESPN and the media are on board with this fantasy...( the media should feel shame) HERE WE GO AGAIN....

Has a baseball comissioner ever been assasinated?...How bout the head of a sports network?

I don't think anyone is selling the fact that baseball is clean. There is a reason they have old school guys investigating the league right now. They know it's corrupt and dirty as hell...nothing will change that, and it likely will never be any different.

Man...I never thought the Reds would actually trade Kearns. You hear his name every year and every year they hang on to him. Well, it happened finally:

On the surface I thought this trade was horrible for the reds. Kearns is one of the top defensive right fielders in the National League and a very solid bat, when healthy. Lopez was wild yet spectacular at short and was a good hitter. Both were young and ready to improve.

But the reds did get very good young arms, and how often does that come around? And they did have the worse bullpen in baseball, and that should be improved.

But dang, giving up two explosive young position players is hard to handle.
The reds have played so well this year I would have liked to keep the best power outfield in the NL together for a few years. But losing 10-9 was getting real old to.

I was shocked when i read about the trade too. If Kearns is a RFer, then I guess that means my Nats are going to get read of Jose Guillen pretty soon.........

The revamp of the Nats has begun under the new owners.....
