DaveT,

I am still stunned you picked Spain. Haven't you made repeated posts in the past to the effect "no matter what you think or how good it sounds, never, ever bet on a spain in a big competition"?

That's it, feel free to remind me

I'm just weak. I should have known this time, when they went with a forward squad of a one-season wonder (David Villa), Mr 'Been-out-of-form-for-2-years-but-will-always-get-picked' (Raul), and Mr 'Most Overrated Striker In Europe - £20m My Arse' (Torres)

And playing Cesc Fabregas and Xavi together with no strong holding midfielder was just stupid.

Still, I'm off to the Camp Nou in Sept, so I'll feel free to hurl abuse at them then.

Henry denies diving.

Is merely cutting across and elbowing the chest a foul?

Oui Oui I am Henry... I think his interview after Arsenal lost to Barcelona in the CL Final was one of the best all time...With all his denials maybe he is a woman afterall...

Technically yes, but much less likely to draw attention and a whistle than an elbow to the chops. It did still look like a foul to me, which is why Henry's embellishment didn't rile me up too much.

OR...you were rooting for France?...was just as disgraceful as any other dive...

A dive is a dive...A yellow is a yellow ...A pk is a pk(no offense to PK)

Peoples personal tastes aside...it is what it is and should be treated as what it is...A guy dives he deserves a yellow not a game winning goal...

I thought I made it clear during the game actually that I didn't really have a horse in that race. I was definitely neutral. Henry embellished, but there was a foul there for him to make a meal of.

It was a clear foul by Puyol. Puyol was an idiot to change direction, and barge into Henry when his teammate was going to get the ball anyway. Puyol is reckless.

Henry holding his face after getting a slight elbow in the chest was lame, but he was still fouled.

And I wanted Spain to win. :(

They will still do one German game a week, but it won't be a live match. Tape delay at 5pm every Sat. I liked the live match because I could watch it while my baby woke up and ate and I still had the rest of the day.

not to be a jerk, but a pk is only a pk in america. the football world calls them "penalties" b/c penalty kick is redundant (except maybe in that bizare incident with pires and henry early last season when pires dummied the spot kick).

I am surprised they kept Spaniard's M. Cantalejo (the one who invented the PK for Italy last time) and M. Lubos who's the zebra tomorrow between ARG-GER.

I liked the work of Uruguayan J. Larrionda, AUS's M .Shield and ARG's H. Elizondo. Thank goodness Russia's V. Ivanov is not in the list, AKA Mr Red Card.

If I start calling them penalties I will have to start calling the sport football...Thats opening up a pandoras? box which could lead to using the dreaded metric system...

Maybe the early yellow will settle the Germans, but what's all that rough stuff from the beginning? It's going to be a close match, the crowd is relentless against Argentina.

What an impressive goal to tie. Looks like we get at least 30 more minutes!

It's a real battle out there. Two headers, two goals. This game may just go all the way to PK's.
