That's it, feel free to remind me
I'm just weak. I should have known this time, when they went with a forward squad of a one-season wonder (David Villa), Mr 'Been-out-of-form-for-2-years-but-will-always-get-picked' (Raul), and Mr 'Most Overrated Striker In Europe - £20m My Arse' (Torres)
And playing Cesc Fabregas and Xavi together with no strong holding midfielder was just stupid.
Still, I'm off to the Camp Nou in Sept, so I'll feel free to hurl abuse at them then.

"The players come from all over the world, the money from deep underneath the Persian Gulf, but, as another, older City poster campaign put it, this is their city. They may now exist in the global spotlight, but they intend to keep it that way."
Henry denies diving.

Is merely cutting across and elbowing the chest a foul?

Technically yes, but much less likely to draw attention and a whistle than an elbow to the chops. It did still look like a foul to me, which is why Henry's embellishment didn't rile me up too much.wco81 wrote: Is merely cutting across and elbowing the chest a foul?

OR...you were rooting for France?...was just as disgraceful as any other dive...RobVarak wrote:Technically yes, but much less likely to draw attention and a whistle than an elbow to the chops. A dive is a dive...A yellow is a yellow ...A pk is a pk(no offense to PK)
Peoples personal tastes aside...it is what it is and should be treated as what it is...A guy dives he deserves a yellow not a game winning goal...
I thought I made it clear during the game actually that I didn't really have a horse in that race. I was definitely neutral. Henry embellished, but there was a foul there for him to make a meal of.XXXIV wrote:

They will still do one German game a week, but it won't be a live match. Tape delay at 5pm every Sat. I liked the live match because I could watch it while my baby woke up and ate and I still had the rest of the day.Zlax45 wrote:What did FSC get instead of the German League?fsquid wrote:Plus, Podolski might be a special player. He's only 21. Damn that FSC for giving up the Bundesliga rights so easily!
The refs that will be staying for the last 8 matches

not to be a jerk, but a pk is only a pk in america. the football world calls them "penalties" b/c penalty kick is redundant (except maybe in that bizare incident with pires and henry early last season when pires dummied the spot kick).XXXIV wrote:OR...you were rooting for France?...was just as disgraceful as any other dive...RobVarak wrote:Technically yes, but much less likely to draw attention and a whistle than an elbow to the chops. I am surprised they kept Spaniard's M. Cantalejo (the one who invented the PK for Italy last time) and M. Lubos who's the zebra tomorrow between ARG-GER.fsquid wrote:The refs that will be staying for the last 8 matches

I liked the work of Uruguayan J. Larrionda, AUS's M .Shield and ARG's H. Elizondo. Thank goodness Russia's V. Ivanov is not in the list, AKA Mr Red Card.
That's ok, you're not being a jerk. I just happen to be writing from Americavanburen wrote: not to be a jerk, but a pk is only a pk in america. the football world calls them "penalties" b/c penalty kick is redundant (except maybe in that bizare incident with pires and henry early last season when pires dummied the spot kick).

If I start calling them penalties I will have to start calling the sport football...Thats opening up a pandoras? box which could lead to using the dreaded metric system...RobVarak wrote:That's ok, you're not being a jerk.
