Honestly, the only third jersey that looks better than any team's home or away jersey is the Rangers' third sweater. That crest featuring the "NYR" and the head of the Statue of Liberty is awesome and should be the Rangers' regular crest.

Take care,

The Bruins' bright yellow third jerseys with the bear cub crest are downright offensive. The American Association of Optometry has issued a warning that viewing them for more than five minutes can cause permanent retina damage.

Which from what I heard, will be the teams alternate second jersey next season. A classic one!

I've read rumors that Chris Pronger has approached Edmonton more than once during the season about being dealt during the offseason. Supposedly his family is unhappy in Edmonton.

Should be an interesting rumor to follow.

First I've heard of it, although I'm almost certain his wife is a St. Louis girl. Where did you read that rumor?

I had heard it from Andy Strickland of 1380 ESPN...but I found this link over at Sportsnet.ca.

Yep it's been rumored for a few days and Bruce Garioch reported that if the Oilers sign Wade Redden then they will trade Pronger for sure. Kind of hard to believe.
His wife Lauren is from St. Louis but you know the Blues aren't an option here.

I heard of it too, although a lot of things have to happen. His contract with the Oilers is for 5 years and he also has a no trade clause, but where there's smoke, there's usually fire.

Very interesting. I also believe in the smoke-and-fire analogy.

It would be a shame if the Oil loses Prongs, but they would get great value for him and save some money, as he's making $7 million per year.

Tomorrow could be a very active day for Edmonton even though it has no first-round pick!

Only one thing stands between the Hawks and the playoffs....Bill Wirtz.

Canning Pat Foley was unbelievable. One of the top 2 or 3 in the biz.

Yep, I think there's fire on the Pronger rumor. I just did a Google News search for "Chris Pronger," and quite a few legitimate media outlets are reporting his request for a trade:

http://news.google.com/news?q=Chris+Pronger

Damn. But the Oil will get definite value in return and hopefully save some room under the cap.

Andy Strickland(St. Louis Blues beat writer) said tonight that when Pronger is ready to discuss the situation he promised that Strickland will get the story first. It's starting to sound like Pronger may want to come back to St. Louis and with his no trade clause, he could possibly force a trade here. Pronger is on vacation and is supposed to be in St. Louis in two weeks. Interesting for sure, it's almost too good to be true from a Blues fan perspective and yet I would think extremely selfish from an Oilers fan perspective. Lauren Pronger could become the 2nd coming of Janet Jones who by the way is from St. Louis as well!
I only have two requests... the Blues don't trade the #1 pick and they don't trade TJ Oshie. Anybody else the Oilers can have...ANYBODY.

The WOW possible trade between T. Bertuzzi and R. Luongo that I was talking about earlier is heating up as the draft takes place tomorrow here in Vancouver.

 Excited like crazy. T. Bertuzzi will shine in the US market where there's no so much drama for all that have happened in his life the last 2 years including a pending civil suit. After all M. Keenan brought him here and he'll love Todd's services in FLO. Personally I think the Canucks are just thriving with this trade if it's indeed a one on one. I expext D. Cloutier to be traded next, all of the sudden the crease is too crowded. Great day for Vancouver fans!

Supposed to be multiple players and somebody mentioned on another board that it's a 9 player deal! I find that hard to believe.

Well, hang on a bit now. A. Auld and B. Allen going too? For Lukas Krajicek and a 6th round pick? Hmmm, I like Bryan Allen, he's a tough kid and was improving daily, but maybe Canucks gave too much? A. Auld played great in the absence of D. Cloutier. I need to take a deep breath now...

Looks like it's Bert, Allen, and Auld, for Luongo and Krajicek. Pretty sweet deal for Florida considering Luongo is going to be a UFA.

If the Canucks can sign Luongo long term they will win the deal. If not...i'd say Florida got a decent return.

Yes, that's my concern now. IF D. Nonis can sign Luongo on a long term deal, then the trade is fair and square. When you trade BIG names like in this case, chances are that the Canucks will sign him, how much is a different story. If Luongo rejected a long term deal with FLO worth 6 million per how much does he really want? Or did he just wanted out of FLO? I mean, he's the future of Team Canada and arguably the top 5 best Goalies in the league but I am just a bit worried about the cap as E. Jovanoski is still unsigned.

Honestly, I think any deal between St. Louis and Edmonton has to involve the No. 1 pick. They just don't have enough valuable commodities on the big club, and trading Chris Pronger for a couple of average-to-decent players and prospects would be nuts for Lowe. Edmonton already has quite a bit of depth in its organization.

No offense, but we're not dealing in equal strength when you compare the Blues' and Oilers' rosters. The Blues' No. 1 asset right now is that top pick, and they're going to have to dangle that to get arguably the best defenseman in the world right now in Pronger.

The Oilers don't need T.J. Oshie. They already have a smallish, skilled center in the system who is ready to make the jump to either the AHL or possibly the NHL this fall -- Rob Schremp. He tore up the OHL this year with London, scoring 145 points in 57 games to lead all scorers in the regular season and 47 points in 19 games to lead all playoff scorers.

When Pronger goes (no sense in saying "if" anymore), the three UFA defensemen who interest me as replacements are Chara, Redden and Blake.

I don't think Ottawa can afford both Redden and Chara, so one of those guys should be available. I read tonight where Blake has a really nice house in Manhattan Beach and wants to return to LA, possibly playing for Anaheim. Niedermayer and Blake on the same team -- that's a pretty nice D foundation!

Damn, Vancouver just became more of a menace in the Northwest tonight.

Do you guys take any of the rumors about Carolina dealing with Pittsburgh to get the No. 2 pick to take Jordan Staal that seriously?

Take care,
PK

I heard R. Blake may go back to the Kings and Chara would look nice in an EDM uniform. I also heard that Oilers may actually want to keep Rolie and trade Jussi in a case of guy that came cheap and now you can sell high based on his playoff performance.

If the Staal brothers can play together like the Sedin twins anything is possible.

And you're right Pk, our division became much tougher for your Oilers especially when C. Pronger gets traded and the key here for K. Lowe is not to panic and wait until the right bunch of young players come to his needs. It's a tough position to be in, a tough trade to make, but they have some good scouting people.

Pk, you'll be tired of facing the Kipper and Luongo next season.
