Well I didn't realize it would be a 4 pick difference if Edmonton wins the cup. I figured only one pick difference with our 2nd pick in the first round but apparently it's not!

Not a chance. He was born in Edmonton, married an Edmonton girl, went to Northlands as a kid to watch the Oil.

Pisani will stay in Edmonton.

But I think Roloson could be a rent-a-goalie and gone after this season. He will command top dollar on the free-agent market, and I don't think it makes sense for Lowe to hand a hefty deal to a guy who will be 37 next season, especially with Markkanen playing so well.

Many have said all Markkanen needed was reassurance that he wasn't going to get the hook every time he played poorly, and the Finals are proving that to be true.

Conklin's time with the Oil could be short. I wouldn't be surprised to see him offered as trade bait, and either Dubnyk or Drouin-Deslauriers enter as the backup to Markkanen. If the Oil keeps Roli and Markkanen, Conklin is as good as gone.

Sadly, I think Laraque is gone. The Oilers have been much more effective with Harvey in the lineup the last two games, and the need for enforcers is dwindling. Shame, as Georges is my favorite player.

If you asked me in March about Peca, I would have begged for the Oilers to give him away. But the guy has been so good in the playoffs that I think the Oil will try to keep him.

Tarnstrom has been solid in the Finals substituting for Bergeron, but with Danny Syvret waiting in the wings, he could be gone. The Oil needs to keep Spacek -- he has been terrific since arriving in Edmonton.

I'm not sure about Dvorak. He hasn't been that effective since returning from the injury after the Detroit series, and he wasn't that great in the regular season. But he's one of those guys who the coaches claim has great potential. So we'll see. I think he's 50-50.

Rem Murray is another 50-50 player. He's a great role player and a real character guy, and I could see the Oil signing him to a cheap, one- or two-year deal. But he's a fourth-liner and penalty killer, nothing more.

Among the restricted free agents, re-signing Stoll, Hemsky and Horcoff are givens, and musts.

This NHL offseason will be very interesting, as it's the first in which the GM's really will have the time to wrap their heads around capology. Last year's offseason was so short due to the lockout ending late in the summer.

PK has said it all for me that I need. I think Game 7 is either going to be a hell of a contest if the Canes wake up, or a push over.

I'm not going to predict who wins, but I know who I cheer for!

It's ironic how EDM had to go this far to find out that their goalie was always home, they had to play him more often during the regular season despite his so so outings. They will release Conklin I believe, and look for another backup.

There's no more room for the heavy hitters in the New NHL, this game demands a fast and speedy team and only the middleweight super pests can apply.

Key guy during faceoffs, he reminded me of his best years in BUF, also during the playoffs. I don't know about his own relationship with MacT though.

True, I can't wait to see where the large list of Quality UFA's will end up signing. And that's the beauty of the new CBA, this years' CAR will look much different that the upcoming new season I bet, win or lose on monday.

Think Super Bowl. Think World Series. Now think Stanley Cup playoffs. They changed a lot of rules in NHL this season, but the one rule that applies to the NHL playoffs has survived untouched: The NHL is the only major North American sports league whose playoffs lose momentum as they progress.

For the Hurricanes, getting blown out 6-1 at home by Montreal on the first night of the playoffs seems like it happened pre-lockout. For Edmonton, winning Game 2 of the first round in Detroit , the first moment of many where it looked like the Oilers might have something here feels like ancient history.

Both teams must be exhausted by now, but the'll play their hearts out, because they won't be a "Tomorrow" no more. Lord Stanley will be crowned, it's the best hockey of the year at the biggest time of the year.

The Oilers were perfect and the Canes were awful. That is true, but don`t expect that to continue into game seven. If we`ve learned nothing from hockey it is that very little carries over into game sevens.
Especially during this series, just when you thought someone was great, the other player was even better. And I predict that it'll be decided by Special Teams, whichever team has the best PK and PP.

This year's playoffs was a great success, may the best team win on Monday, I know more than ever that this is "the coolest game on earth".

Game on. To everyone's suprised D. Weight skated freely and did some drills too. He's playing with pain and had two cortisone shots to ease his shoulder/upper body pain, and will take another injection if he's ready to play tonight.

CAR will throw everything to stop EDM's improbable run, the last team to come back from 3 games and won it all was in the 30's I think ,as Toronto did the come back. They were down 0-3 and EDM will try it from 1-3.

Conn Smythe? My bet woud be on C. Pronger if Oils win, although F. Pisani has scored some crucial goals for the team.

For CAR you have a bunchful: Anyone between C. Ward, R. Brind'Amour, E. Staal and C. Stillman.

All the big honchos are in the review booth including M. Murphy and Campell. The puck may not have gone in, it was close, but Staios covered the puck in the crease I thought. That's an automatic PS. I'll see what they had to say.

Seems to me the refs botched that goal, and Canes should've had a PS.

Just thinking about it logically, a delayed penalty can only be called when oilers have possession, and staios could've only had possession by making an illegall play by getting on top of the puck in the crease. Therefore, doesn't Staios' possession of the puck logically require a PS being called?

The call was that EDM touched the puck IN THE AIR with a hand, before anything else, including covering it in the crease occurred. TOuching it in the air was ruled as gaining control in this case, and therefore at that point play is over due to the EDM delayed penalty.
