I've been watching the game, and Germay is controlling play. They look pretty good moving the ball and are getting numbers forward, and both of their goals were good plays. The problem is however, that once every 5 or 10 minutes Costa Rica has played a decent counter as Germany's backline is getting caught flatfooted.
I would expect Germany to win this game 2-1 or 3-1.
Just announced that shots were 15-2 Germany...

Yeah, they are playing well the Germans. That D though is a bit undecisive playing the offside trap as they got burn in the 1st goal and were caught napping in a couple of more instances. But they are young and need to play more cohesively and decisive, because with a top team you won't get too many chances.
No PK on an obvouis dive...A German player hit an absolute bomb from 40 yards to score just after that play to make it 4-2. Good game by Costa Rica just got unlucky with some unreal goals by the Germans.wco81 wrote:BBC is saying Germany got a penalty kick on an obvious dive?
And they converted to get the 4-2 score and a sigh of relief?

Well, you've seen neither winner of the WC there.
Costa Rica were laughable, apart from two trademark finishes from the 'Chop, and Germany's defenders remind me of the famous comment about British boxer Joe Bugner
"the body of a Greek statue, with fewer moves".
If Germany play with that back 4 against any decent team, they will get splattered.
Oh, and big thumbs up to FIFA for introducing another comedy football design into the tournament - even more floaty and swervy than the previous balloon like efforts they have used. All it serves to do is to make mediocre players look like Roberto Carlos.
I can guarantee that Frings put little or no spin on that shot, but just watch the movement of the ball in the air.

"The players come from all over the world, the money from deep underneath the Persian Gulf, but, as another, older City poster campaign put it, this is their city. They may now exist in the global spotlight, but they intend to keep it that way."

All of the keepers have slated it - it's got no visible seams, so is very difficult to grasp.
If such a market exists, I'd be heavily backing goals from outside the area in this WC.

He'd better hope that it stops quickly when it goes past you, as he's now one of the most over-rated defenders in the world. His performances (if you could call them that) for Real Madrid in defence make me think he could be soccer's first special teams player.

I closed my eyes here so I wouldn't see spoliers...but I have a question.
Can anyone point me to a place that has a Poland/Ecuadors game today on a torrent?
I have searched for a while and haven't found it.
Also, isn't there an online service that I could payt and watch the world cup games on the web....even after the game is over?
I thought I heard of a European site that had the rights.
Thanks

Same question as Pigpen, but with the caveat that I only have a slow dial-up connection.
I'm stuck out here in what is probably one of the most remote corners of the world - no cable, no TV and only a slow 'net connection. Even shortwave barely reaches out here so I can listen to Radio Australia coverage of the Socceroos, but that's about it.
Anyone know of any shadowy web sites that might provide an audio feed? Normally there is some local Asian broadcast or something that can be hacked with a proxy until FIFA finds out. Anyone know of any? Are there any pay services with audio over the net?
