Nope, that was soft. Not even a screen.

F*ck. Need a goal on this upcoming PP in a huge way.

Take care,

Are you listning R. Torres, J. Stoll, S. Samsonov? Ouugh, looks like Jussi just let a softy in, unless it was tipped in by somebody.
Looked soft as hell...But there go Betmans boys with the make up call...Oil to the power play..feeling guilty? Not gulty enough for the 5 on 3 though...They smell blood now...

EDM is giving way to many PP's to the best team that owns it. Dangerous zone.

F*ck. Stillman's goal was a gut-ripper.

The Oilers look flat after two. Very little jump. It really reminds me of a regular-season game during the dog days of January for the Oil. I'm finding myself yelling at turnovers, covering my eyes as Jussi scrambles around the net and screaming a litany I yelled at least 100 times this winter: "HEMSKY, SHOOT THE F*CKING PUCK!"

Compliments to Carolina through two. The Canes are the team with the hot, superb goalie, yet they have created a fortress in their defensive zone. Meanwhile, the Oilers needed to play their best game of the season, offensively and especially defensively to protect Markkanen, and they haven't got the job done after two.

Ah, but it was 3-1 Edmonton after two in Game 1. So here's to hoping the Oil can turn the tables. MacT needs to peel some paint off the dressing room walls between periods. The Oil simply isn't working hard enough, and that's inexcusable.

Take care,
PK

I agree. Jussi isn't the problem, while the second one was a bit soft.

But he can stop them all if he wants, and if the Oil don't score any.......

And what's with all the cutsey passing and no shooting? I would swear I'm watching a Sens game!

Well, I am sure that MacT is ripping a few players during the intermission, and if there's any hope for EDM, thay can look no further than game 1, with the score 3-0, CAR came storming back. If not, that game one loss will have a bigger effect once this one is over.

Latest rumour for long Islanders sufferers, Ted Nolan to coach the team.

Are you f*cking kidding me? It probably won't matter in the final score, but Weight kicked that f*cking puck into the net. I saw the replay six times, and he looked like the bastard love child of Tom Dempsey and Super Toe every time.

F*ck.

TSN says Neil Smith as GM, Nolan as coach.

Any Buffalonians with inside info on Nolan? All I hear are rumors in the wind.

With the score already 5-0, why not change Goalies and see what Conklin can do? What do you have to lose? You have to have some + momentum going into game 3.

He did a great job in Buffalo, I am surprised it took this long for him to get back to the NHL. Neil Smith is familiar with NYC.

I turned it on right when they were showing the replay from above and it looked like he kicked it to his stick.

That was horrible. Absolutely horrible. I never thought I'd say this, but i think Jussi was the only one who came to play!

I hope MacT uses the extra day off to rip the guys a new one, or else this series is going to be a sweep.

Yeah, I recall reading there was some sort of black-balling of Nolan within the NHL, for some reason. Lindy Ruff has done such a nice job in Buffalo for such a long time that people forget that it was Ted Nolan who led the franchise's resurgence during his short time behind the bench.

Honestly, this did remind me of a dog days of winter game by the Oilers. The same Oilers who could lost seven in a row during the regular season. The same Oilers who were blown out by St. Louis with their playoff lives on the line in the last week of the season.

This was not the same Edmonton Oilers that we've seen during the playoffs.

First, give full credit to Carolina. The Canes played nearly a perfect game and really rattled Edmonton. The Oil unfortunately resorted to goon tactics in the third, something I rarely saw from them all regular season or in the postseason.

The Oilers are beyond frustrated. They also played differently in front of Markkanen, trying too much to protect him. Let the guy play. He might get the job done, you never know, and he wasn't that bad last night for a guy who allowed five goals.

Maybe MacT is right: Maybe guys are trying to do too much with Roli on the sidelines, and it's affecting the Oilers' style of play.

Either way, if this is as deep as the Oilers can dig within themselves, this series will be over in four or five games. The Oilers have to tap a new reserve of courage, or this series is done.

It's all in the mind now. Edmonton has the skill to win hockey games at the highest level, even without Roli. But the Oil has to believe it can get the job done. It looked like a team with a severe shortage of belief last night.

I still have hope. I'm too much of a fan, invest too much of my time and emotions into this team to give up now.

Take care,
PK

I was saying the same thing. If they don't use Conklin anymore, they might as well get rid of him. Why keep around your percieved baggage.

See what you got. Jussi didn't play poorly at all, but you need to see if he can still play for you.
