An unexpected trip to Fry's yesterday coupled with an unexpected $29.99 pricetag made me pull the trigger on this one. I barely got to play it last night but it seemed pretty fun. I was able to play 2 matches and I got smoked both times. It seems like it's pretty easy to pick up and play but it will take a little time to master. I'd love to check it out online this weekend if anyone's game.

Just got done playing Toper online and it was an absolute blast. We should try to get a small tourney going soon to check it out.

I was a little worried after playing offline matches, but online games are just insane. It's like playing the best tennis games on speed. Nothing like ending a 103 shot rally with a smash.

How are the actual games against the CPU? I know they can't compare with multiplayer, but are they fun?

$29.99 at Outpost.com (fry's) also. Anyone have a way to get free shipping from outpost? :D

I've only played a few times against the CPU, but I think part of the problem was playing on easy to get adjusted. I'm guessing that online is set to medium or some standard difficulty level which led to a lot more mishits and long shots, so I'll have to play more to get a good feel for it.

Love the game too.

Anyone having the game occasionally freeze on them? I cleaned off the disc, and it hasn't done it since, but it did freeze a couple times for me.

I see early impressions are positive. Anyone played it online yet? Any lagging?

I've not seen any in 3 matches. Sometimes you have to wait a second or two before serves (waiting for opponent) but the gameplay has been nice and smooth.

Got the game Friday and have been playing ever since; both offline and online matches are flawlessly clean and amazingly fun. No doubt the lack of a real single-player mode will hurt it's long-term value for anyone not constantly on XBL, but for those looking for an intense, fun, and addicting online game this is about as good as it gets.

When the rallies start to extend past 20 hits, the lights dim so you only see the players and the table, the music picks up, and things start to grow intense. Get above 50 hits and everything seems to be at a crazy fast pace...

It's ridiculously fun as a multiplayer game...a buddy of mine was over and we played for a couple hours yesterday. Between that and Top Spin...it's a good time to love racket sports.

The game froze on me last night, in the menus.

I picked it up at circuit city. Brought the Fry's ad in for a price match. I should do that more often. I think they throw in an extra 5% off or something. Game seems pretty fun. Need to practice a lot. I tried an exhibition match on medium. Won a close first match then got destroyed twice to lose the set. That was before i tried the tutorial.

Is anyone still playing this game, or did all the discs pull a mission-impossible and self-destruct at some time?

I just got my X360 back (actually they sent me a new replacement unit, as they seem to do), and picked up this game yesterday. I think it's pretty damn good. It's pretty basic in a lot of ways, but it is so well done and nicely put together, and the gameplay gets better and better the more i get used to the controls. I've only tried a couple of characters, but there seemed to be a big difference between them.

I would love to take this thing online, as I'm sure it will step up into a different level playing against a person of relatively even skills. The spectate feature intrigues me as well, for DSP tourneys and such.

Anyone still have a working copy of this game?

It's a hellova lot of fun multiplayer, that's for sure. The AI is just OK in the single player game (and there really isn't a single player outside of tourney really), so I'll keep it around for the multiplayer action, that's for sure.

Well, I guess I'll take the plunge this week, after all the good impressions. Look forward to some online games.

I am going to try to pick it up too. I just hate to pick it up only for the AI and single player game be not so good then have everyone fade off playing it online. We'll see

I've got it but really need to get some practice in. I haven't played online yet but spectated a match the other day...some guy was killing whoever it was that he was playing. Wonder if the next round of sports games will all have the spectator mode. I hope so.

Massive thread resurrection. I bought this game used for $2.99 tonight at Gamestop, and it's the best 3 bucks I've ever spent on gaming.

So simple. So challenging. So much fun.

It's shocking how good it is really. And yes, hell of a thread bump at just over six years. Classic game.

Shocking is the perfect description. I can't wait until my kids get the hang of this game, and we smash the sh*t out of each other in head-to-head play.

I already revile Jesper, and I've owned the game for two days. I'm already screaming "F*CK YOU!" at him when he beats me.

Inciting emotion -- another sign of a good game. :)
