Back-story?
Reader's Digest version: A very good friend of Neck and I, a work colleague of mine at the Speedway, was married 2 1/2 years ago. Our buddy also is friends with Sam, and he invited Sam and Crystal to the wedding.

Sam and Crystal came to the wedding in Indy from Ohio. I was in the wedding party and was pretty well lubricated when another buddy and I broke out into an a capella version of "Ring of Fire" during the reception.

Sam and Crystal walked up to us. Sam stood with his head cocked while looking at me, smiled and shook his head. Crystal smiled, half in disbelief and half in fear, as Sam explained to her who the hell I was and why I was doing this. :)

A very fun night. :) And yes, after we exchanged greetings this May after a press conference in the media center, Sam cracked, "So, you still singing 'Ring of Fire' at wedding receptions?"

Good memory, that man!

And you have to understand Sam's dry sense of humor. Neck told me Sam walked up to Wheldon at a race earlier this year while Wheldon was wearing those gay white shades of his and cracked, "Hey, Dan, do those come in a men's version?"

Take care,
PK

according to this site, the allstate 400 (formerly called the brickyard) is in HD (sorry, can't cut and paste the item). the site also says no indy car events will be in hd this year.

but, as pk explained earlier, it could be a cost issue. it's a shame b/c I'm sure the races would be great.
