There's all kinds of rumors flying around on the Sabres forums that McKee is flying into Raliegh this afternoon and will do a Willis Reed. I doubt it, sounds pretty bad.
My guess is that you will see both Brian Campbell and Tony Lydman play close to 35 minutes tonight.
Well Carolina and their entire healthy lineup CAN GO SUCK IT!
"Great moments... are born from great opportunity. And that's what you have here, tonight, boys.... that's what you've earned here tonight. One game. If we played 'em ten times, they might win nine. But not this game. Not tonight. Tonight, we skate with them. Tonight, we stay with them... and we shut them down because we can... Tonight, WE are the greatest hockey team in the world. You were born to be hockey players. Every one of you. And you were meant to be here tonight. This is your time. Their time is done. It's over..... Screw 'em... Now go out there and take it.."
Cam Ward might be hanging from the tallest building in Raleigh tomorrow morning if Hecht's goal ends up being the game winner. That goal was as soft as the Stay-Puft marshmallow man.
Take care,
PK

GREAT shot by Brind'Amour. Can't blame Fitzpatrick on that one. He did the right thing, tying up the other forward in the crease. It's really, really hard to dig a puck out of your skates when you're trying to tie up someone.
Superb awareness by Brind'Amour to see that puck in the slot, scoot in and finish. Great play.
Take care,
PK

Bummer for Buffalo. The team has a HUGE heart and balls of steel. It's pretty tough to win the conference when you're using the Rochester Americans' defense. Still, a very, very gritty performance.
I agree with JD: Sabres' fans should be very proud of this club, as it's built for the long run. Lindy is a great coach.
Now, bring on the 'Canes. My prediction: Oilers in six.
GO OIL!
Take care,
PK

Congrats to the Hurricanes on their trip to the finals. My prediction is Hurricanes in 5 games.
Flashback to September 1988 at a Blues open house. I was talking to Blues GM at the time Ron Caron and asked him about his selection of Rod Brind'Amour with the Blues first pick that year. He told me that he already loved Rod Brind'Amour and that Brind'Amour's last name meant "a little bit of love" He also told me that Brind'Amour would one day be a captain and would hoist the cup. To bad it didn't happen in St. Louis though...
Also as a Blues fan....boy did it hurt to see Jochen Hecht score the biggest goal of his career at the end of the 2nd, then see Doug Weight score the biggest goal of his career at the start of the 3rd, only to be followed by Brind'Amour scoring the biggest goal of his career to win it!!! When it rains it pours!!!
Congratulations to Carolina, and commiserations to the Sabres and their fans. Losing in game 7 is always bad, but when injuries play such a big part it's even harder to swallow.
I didn't see any of the game live because OLN was a black screen until well after the game finished. I think the thunderstorms must have caused that. I had to track the game on ESPN News, and they actually had "BUF advance to Stanley Cup Finals" on its ticker for a little while after the game ended.
A great series. Canes won because of a few guys with more experience but Sabres put on a great fight, even though they were a bit thin on D.
R. Brind'Amour is their MVP, this guy just carried his team to the finals, a great Captain and faceoff guy, tough to beat. What about those people that doubted on C. Ward?
Two trips to the finals in the past 4 years is not bad at all. How does Dougie Weight feel about playing his former team?
I am glad all the pep talk between Ruff & Laviolette is over now, let the finals begin. NOW!!!!!

I'll love Brind'Amour to the day I die, hell he scored goals on his first two shots in his first game as a Blue...a playoff game at that. However his on the ice interview comment about Ruff was pretty classless. Rod being the leader that he is should know better than to talk s***.

What did he say? I didn't see it because OLN was still offline.
