mls we9 option file?

Post by vanburen »

I know there are a lot of winning eleven players on this board.

has anyone come across a legit mls option file for we9?

some people have expressed apathy with the master league system, which I'm starting to feel. I'd like a wrinkle to this game that has wonderful gameplay but begs for something new.

I have neither the time nor the skill to do it myself, but I'd gladly enjoy the work of some genius who's put in the time. I've found it on none of the multiple worldwide we/pes boards.

I'm not aware of any, and being in law school this year I wasn't able to make the ones I did for WE7 and WE8. Depending on time, maybe I can work on something this summer, but no promises there.

it seems like there's something big in soccer this summer...

I can satisfy myself playing with the world cup teams leading up to the tourney, but I wish I could do mls sometimes too.

in case anyone wants to use one, this thread has an option file with mls and mexican leagues.

it's great with uniforms, rosters and formations. but player attributes are hit and miss. most teams have messed up goal keepers or other out of whack items.

I spend about an hour to adjust skill levels, and I'm enjoying the heck out of it.

it also has euro teams adjusted, so it's a good file.

Did you tweak the Xbox option file vanburen? If so can you send me your tweaked option file to scoop.brady@gmail.com?

no dice, scoop. I play it on ps2.

it really wasn't that tough to adjust though. just skill attributes. I watch a fair amount of mls and u.s. national team, so I just figure players playing on the world cup team should be better than those not.

and if say, jimmy conrad was defender of the year in mls last year, he should have the highest defensive numbers in mls.

Scoop, you can convert his option file to the Xbox. You need an option file editor and you are golden.

I just contacted the option file creator, as I should be able to use my WWSM -> WE converter to update the player attributes (some of them are waaaay off). Will let everyone know how this goes.

Sounds good. Definitely post if you make a new version because I've found Watson's file in general to have some ridiculous ratings. (Eddie Gaven as maybe the best player on the US national team comes to mind...)

Is it possible to get this option file into the 360?

the option file creator did the hard part, so I didn't mind doing the easy part of changing attributes.

I did play a little passive-aggressive by changing Houston Dynamo back to Houston 1836 and changing their uniforms. alas, I was unable to change the logo, but it was enough for me.

one thing that sucks in Master League is that since there are east, west and mls all star teams, that means there's 3 versions of some players, like landon donovan. so if I changed his stats on LA, I also have to register him on those other teams or change stats again, I guess. and in ML, if I want to add donovan, there are 3 versions of him.

also, b/c there are only 12 (+1 as toronto is on there) 3 other teams have to fill out the ML, so I took them from mexico and made 2nd division all mexican teams.

van buren,
You can delete those extra players and then register them to avoid duplicates. There's better way to avoid duplicates but I don't know what it is.

Does anyone have an updated version of this file with the attributes tweaked and maybe the duplicate players deleted?

as I wrote a month ago, I did it myself in about an hour or so, and I've enjoyed relatively realistic MLS master league since. I don't have the technology or tech savvy to be able to share it, unfortunately, but it's also my ratings, as realistic as I could do it, but certainly unscientific.

it also gets constant tweaking when I notice something I missed. maybe I should take donovan a few notches after seeing him in the world cup...

btw: I didn't touch dempsey's stats, and I love playing with him. his play seems to be beyond his stats, as in reality.

What's the best option file out there that works in PES5, and has the European teams?

Superpatch 3.0. I have it and it's terrific. Download the Level of Detail (LOD) mixer as well - if you have a powerful enough PC you'll love what you can do with the graphics.
