PSV and Bayern Munich must learn to finish if they want to climb out of division 3. The two clubs combined for 24 shots, but only 3 were on target. There were numerous missed chances for both sides including several shots that struck the post and Bayern even failed to convert on a second half penalty shot. PSV was hampered by some ill-timed offsides infractions. Bayern controlled possession for long stretches of time, but failed to capitalize and routinely missed the net by a large margin. Both teams are looking forward to the rematch.
yes i am.. especially after an own goal loss..

Definitely a glitch in the league module. Here's the deal: if you can select the option to 'modify player' when you look at the individual player's page, all you have to do is then click on 'update changes.'Jimmydeicide wrote:Juventus 2 v Liverpool 5
Still cant get my squad up for stats so here they are.
For some reason, the players' 'start dates' are screwy, such that the players don't show up on the game report pages. However, if you select the 'modify player' option, you will see the players actually have the correct 'start date' with a year of 0006. Clicking on 'update player' will then sort of reset it so that the player will show up on the game report page.
My suggestion is to just do this for those who score or are booked; no need to do it for them all until it is necessary.
If you can't 'modify' the players, I will do it for all players this weekend. Unless Jason finds a way to fix this globally, which he has tried. It's a glitch in the system.
PS: The only stats I think we should worry about are the team tables and goal scored stats; the player stats are gravy as far as I'm concerned. I would like to get this fixed, but we are uncovering problems with the league module as we go, so it's a work in progress.
As long as the tables are accurate (and automatically kept, I might add), and the total goals stats are kept (in case of standings ties), the league will go on fine. The individual player stats, while interesting, are not critical to the league moving forward.
As to the deadline, there's really no absolute need to extend the first-half deadline. I will set up the second-half schedule by Monday at the latest, and everyone can still get their first-half games in.
Those who have no games recorded and who have not posted in this thread that they are having problems may get forfeit losses (or draws, depending) for these first half games. Those individuals are very few.

Good game, Zlax. That was probably the best 30 minute stretch of offense I've ever had in this game. You kept coming at me in waves in the 2nd half, but luckily for me the lead held up.

Bayern Munich found the back of the net three times during a 32 minute stretch and held off Arsenal's relentless attacking in the 2nd half to gain a 3-1 victory. Makaay and Ballack scored off near-perfect crosses from the left and then right sides of the pitch during a 5 minute period in the first half. Early in the 2nd half Ballack placed a beautiful shot in the upper right hand corner of the net from a tough angle just outside the left portion of the box to complete Bayern's scoring. Arsenal got on the scoreboard when Bayern's keeper inadvertently dropped the ball at his feet, which was subsequently deposited in the net by Henry. Arsenal accumulated 20 fouls during the contest, but only Fabregas was shown a yellow card.

Scoring: Maoulida (Mon) 8', Owen (Newcastle) 37'
Bookings: Boumsong (Newcastle) 10', Jenas (Newcastle 66')
Injury: Dyer (Yellow Cross...apparently a broken shooting eye
)
A spirited and evenly-fought contest found each team dominating one half of play...almost as if the opposition was "sluggish" in each
Maoulida scored a powerful header into the upper left of Shane Given's goal in the 8th minute. Monaco hit the bar at least once and had several other premium chances go begging before the halftime whistle. Owen utilized a deft first touch to create space for himself on the top of the box and drove home a powerful shot against the run of play.
Newcastle came out refreshed after the break and pushed hard the entire duration of play. The Magpies had several excllent chances, and Alan Shearer had a goal disallowed by a VERY controversial offside call. The referee was particularly touch, calling a number of questionable fouls on both teams and booking two Newcastle players.
Great game, Jared. I was just happy to be in the game at half. It was a deserved draw, but we both should've had at least one more. Look forward to the rematch.

The first half was packed with action. Juventus had a early goal taken off the board due to offsides. Minutes later Robben's blistering shot from just outside the penalty area struck woodwork. Taking the play back the other way, Juve's Del Piero whistled one just high. With the half winding down, Duff gambled and intercepted a pass. Walking in all alone, he found the bottom right corner of the net for the game's only goal.
The second half was rather uneventful.

Also Zeppo or Jason. After I entered the stats for this game against Rob somehow I got an extra win and it says i've played 5 when i've only played 4. I go into my teams menu and look at the schedule and it only has me as playing 4 games so something is screwy. Give it a look when you get a chance.
Good game Rob.

As i've said before, due to an inane feature of the league module that we cannot remove, all players have a 'start date' assosciated with them. This start date MUST BE EARLIER, that is of a lower value, than the date of any game for which you wish to see that player on the game report screen.Sully wrote:I still can't enter my goal scorers over at SGN.
The games have a year of 1002 for Season Two. Therefore all players must have a 'start date' with a year less than 1002; I have been using 0006 for the year. You must 'modify' players to adust their 'start date,' or set the 'start date' properly when you 'add players.' I was wholly unaware of any 'start date' associated with individual players when I decided to use the dates of the schedule as a simple record-keeping tool, starting with year 1001 for the initial season.
If no one but me is able or willing to modify the start date of the players, then we will henceforth forego the keeping of any and all statistics for this league, outside of the team-related stats (first half goals, second half goals, own goals, total goals).
Due to this ridiculously aimless feature of the league module, there is simply no other way to deal with this.
Really what I should do is set the dates for the third season at 5003. That will avoid this problem in future.Sully wrote:I wasn't aware of the start date. I saw 2006 when adding my players, and changed it to 2005, thinking that it just had to be less than 2006. I've got it figured out now. Thanks.
Sorry for being snappy. I was a bit tired and distracted. . . .
