I agree totally.

There's the overstatement of the year. Sabres will be fighting for their lives just to make it of the next round.
Looks like the Senators are the ones fighting for their lives...
Wow, you busted it out from a few days ago. Yes the Senators have their backs to the wall probably facing a must-win in game 3, but as I said for another series, this is far from over. The Senators have clearly outplayed the Sabres in games one and two, and while you can steal a win or two, you can't win a 7 game series getting outplayed every night.

Either way, I'm not bailing on the Sens yet. Should be some good games coming up...

I agree the Sabres still have their work cut out for them but they are in a good position. The Sens are like the Russian Red Army team, they just keep coming at you in waves. Miller is going to have to be the difference. The hope was to win one game in Ottawa and take it from there. Winning both games in Ottawa might might just be the difference in the series.

I think hits to the head like that should be illegal. Connolly's had a history of concussion problems and this latest hit could have ended his career.
Hmmm, let me think. Let's put a STOP DO NOT HIT ME sign behind Connolly's Jersey because he does have a history of concussions. Come on, it's playoffs time, it's part of the game, he made a cut with his head down and P. Shaeffer caught him flat footed. On a good sign, Connolly seems to be better, will he play the remaining series, maybe not.

I don't blame Shaeffer for the hit. It was clean, just like the hit on Umberger was clean. I just think the NHL would be better off overall if any hit to the heads were made illegal. Supposedly elbows to the heads are already illegal, but referees miss them a lot, perhaps because they can't tell the difference between an elbow and a shoulder. Keith Primeau was elbowed right in the chin in October in front of the ref and no penalty was called.

I'm pretty sure the Scott Stevens mega-hit on a RedWing in the 95 finals was to the chest, and not the head. So you can still have bone crunching, momentum changing hits even with the head off limits.

Make any rule you want. Refs will still miss them. They missed the stick to Koivus eye and that was in plain view.

It was a clean hit with the shoulder. It's not like Schaffer used his stick or arm to hit Connolly.

Take care,

There's one big difference: Ray Emery is no Vladislav Tretiak, the greatest goalie ever to play the game.

A bit OT here, but just read today that 15 flyers will need postseason surgery. That is unbelievable, and maybe takes some of the stink out of their first round exit. Complete list;

handzus
brashear
radivojevic
desjardins
hatcher
stevenson
rathje
esche
nittymaki
gauthier
savage
primeau
kapanen
forsberg
gagne

Wow. That's one hell of a list. Maybe Clarke's excuses for losing were legit for once.

Exactly right regarding Emery and hopefully thats going to be the Sens downfall. In general i'm just speaking about the Sens offense, i'm damn near on the edge of my seat everytime they cross center ice, they scare the hell out of me.

I am sure that most of us are a bit suprised that all series have a 2-0 lead. With the exception of the SENS-SABR series which I think BUFF just stole both games, the other series have the respective teams up 2-0 and deserving so. COL is hanging tough so far tonight on a must win, but there's nothing to quack about this ANA team.

I'm only suprised that Buffalo is up 2-0. I thought for sure that series would be 1-1 or I should say at least I was hoping it would be 1-1 but damn right i'll take a 2-0 Sabres lead. The Ducks, Canes, and Sharks being up 2-0 doesn't suprise me at all. I think the Sharks are going to play for the cup. I think Anaheim's luck runs out next round. I think we are looking at a Sharks and Sabres stanley cup and i'll take the Sabres in 5 games.

Great action in COL. Going to OT, I. Bryzgalov had his shutout broken in the 1st period, the 2nd longest in NHL playoff history, not bad for a rookie.

A rookie mental error by a veteran player. COL is in deep trouble now, Theodore played his best game yet, Blake and Sakic shined, but it may be a bit too little too late.

Holy sh*t: Brisebois should be sent to the top of the highest Rocky Mountain peak without food and water for a week after that mistake.

What the f*ck was he thinking? Hell, I'm a beer-league and pond player, and I even I know to move it up along the wall to safety. And Brisebois had a wing waiting along the boards for the puck!

What a game for Lupul.

Big game for the Oil tonight. A must-win, all the way.

It looked like the puck was deflected on the 4th goal, which wouldn't have helped Theodore.

San Jose vs. Anaheim should be a good series. The Oilers aren't quite dead yet, though.

Nope...I still have hope for them. They lost to one goal games at SJ. Lets see what happens game 3.

I am thinking ahead, I know, but it would be great to watch S. Niedermayer vs Joe Thornton, two quick teams going at each other with hot goaltending. Sad thing about this possible clash, no one in southern California gives a damn.

Oils first line must cloud Toskala and start scoring to have any chance, so far they have been outskated by a quicker SJ team, but I love the hits on this series. Very Physical.

D. Hasek is back practicing, good news for SENS fans and they'll play with more intensity hopefully. D. Alfredsson must lead the way.

Man, Marty doesn't look like the typical Marty between the pipes early for Jersey. Not a good sign for the Devils.

Williams' wrister was a nice goal, though.

The Flyers gave up on him too quickly and didn't get much for him. :(

Ottawa is starting to look like a beaten team. Buffalo really took it to them in the first, penalties kind of halted their momentum. The Sens must get the next goal. Emery looks putrid, Buffalo is just being a bit too fancy and missing the net on one-timers.

The Sabres could have easily scored 5 goals in the first period. They just need to focus on hitting the net.
