Jack, go ahead and play db. I'm not going to stop you!
Sully, are you sure you don't want to play you game v. Feyenord? It makes a difference to the standings for the rest of the teams, but I guess in the end it doesn't matter really as Roma has clinched the win long ago.
I've put in the forfeits for AC Milan's games. I gave Milan and Man U a draw in their matchup. Unless we hear from db about getting other games in, I will keep the forfeits I put in for the Man. U. games remaining.
I also gave a forfeit win to Munich over Liverpool, since bubbaball posted here over the weekend and we haven't heard from Jimmy in some time. I also gave a result of 0-0 to the Man. U. v. Liverpool game.
I guess it really makes little difference unless db plays and wins all the rest of his games (which would earn him the forefeit win v. Milan) in which case he could steal the promotion spot. My feeling is that it is just too late and we should get moving for Season two. It's a bit of a shame, too, as there were really three teams that would have been fighting for that promotion stop, between Liverpool, Man U. and Fulham. I guess we can hope for Season Two! One more note is that if we get more than one newcomer, the second-place and third-place teams may be promoted anyway to keep the divisions even in numbers. So these forfeits could prove important (though I'm not holding my breath that we will get new participants).
Still, Jack and db should play just to play!!
I am going to start a new thread to announce/congratulate the division winners, and let others know now is the time to join up if they want to get in.

One more thing:
Post if you want to change your teams for Season Two. Right now I think Jared, Rob Varak, Naples, Sully, and Mo all want to change up, but I'd love to see some confirmation. We will do an initial draw Wednesday (to give time for newcomers to post), and do second and third rounds if necessary on Thursday and Friday, Saturday at the latest; I want to put the schedule for the first half of Season Two up on Sunday and get games stared next week.
I am contemplating changing teams, but right now am leaning towards sticking with these Trukish suckers for at least one more season. We'll see in the next couple of days.

Let me confirm that I want to change teams for next season.
Also, just forfeit or scratch my last game with Sully. The game is meaningless at this point for relegation, and Sully and I weren't able to hook up this weekend. I'll be super busy the next few days, so I won't even be able to play until Thursday at the earliest. I say we just move forward.

I already posted to forfeit it. I'm on my way to the slower lower division.Naples39 wrote:Let me confirm that I want to change teams for next season.

Well, I made it a 0-0 draw since you guys are both letting this one go. And that one point is still enough for Feyenoord to take second place, so watch your back for that Rob Varak (or more likely DiCanio!!)!Sully wrote:I already posted to forfeit it. Well, we are set to start Season Two on Monday of next week, so if you want to tally any Season One games you missed, go ahead. The game with Jack is still not reported, so you could start with that.dbdynsty25 wrote:Just advance it to season two. I'm not moving up so it's not a big deal. Lets just get season two started now that I've got a working machine.
We have to go through team assignment before we can get the schedule set up.
I updated the initial post for the upcoming Second Season. Note that 'season' for this season will be Summer, not Winter which we used for Season One. Otherwise, everything will remain the same.
We are getting quite a response from new entrants, and I think we will have to go to a three division structure rather than having 8 or 10 teams per division. This way the top division will remain as we expected it: six teams, with AtXj replacing Sully. The other two divisions will be evenly divided, so there is a chance Sudz will go into the third division. We'll see after tomorrow afternoon, at which time my arbitrarily set deadline for new entrant registration will have passed.
As to team switching:
So far I have confirmation that Sully, Rob, Naples, and Bubbaball want to switch teams. I myself am leaning towards one more season of suffering with Fenerbahçe - hey, maybe I will have an advantage for a little bit as y'all struggle with your new teams!!
I still need to hear from Mo and Jared about changing teams, and any second divisioners besides Bubbaball who want to go into the new draw.
With four new entrants so far, maybe more, we are running out of Top Tier teams! There are only 15 in my list, and we already have four in the league.
Those from the top division will, of course, have teams selected from the massive Second Tier of teams, many of which are not very good. Be advised that you all may end up with teams that are worse than what you have now.
And of course, we will have the 'three draw' structure for team assignment; after I post the initial draw tomorrow evening, everyone will need to chime in as to whether they want to enter the second draw, or keep the team they have been assigned in the first draw. The same process will apply for the third and final draw. Note that the only guarantee you have is that you cannot be assigned a team already assigned someone, or a team you used the previous season, or in the second or third draw, the team you had drawn for you from the previous rounds of team assignment draws.
Make sense?

I dont see the difference between looking in this thread or opening up AIM? I prefer this because you can post a message and walk away. With AIM, you have to be online and in front of your computer to communicate.
Maybe a combination of the two would be best, where you post the time you are availabe here and then meet up on AIM before you go into XBL.
The other thing we could do is agree to exchange cell phone numbers, since most people have free long distance these days.
not sure why this should be so difficult
many other leagues I have been in have just used a forum with a dedicated thread for arranging gametimes and it always worked out fine.

Jimmy, I hope you don't leave the league. It's going to start getting interesting in a little while! Most guys here seem to have AIM, even if like Mo they never turn it on
.
I have my preferences set here at DSP to send me an email whenever I get a PM. Between PMs, AIM, this thread, and Jack's zany cell-phone idea, I think we can figure out how to get four games in over a two week period. Not to mention the handy new XBL messaging features, which allow you to send and receive XBL messages from your browser.
Jack, that list above was a list of all the teams we are drawing from. In the congrats/get new blood thread I put a little '@' next to the teams that are already spoken for.
I still have to hear from Jared as to whether he wants to change teams or not. I am not changing teams, nor is db, Sudz (OK maybe change isn't exactly right for Sudz), Jack, and Jimmy. Sully will be assigned a team from the Top Tier, as he is now in the Second Division.
SGN League Site for Season Two
Guys who are changing teams and new entrants into the league will need to head over to the SGN League site and take control over their 'new' teams for season two. Jason has created new teams in Season Two (make sure you set that pull-down tab at the top right of the standings page to Season Two) for guys changing teams, and right now those teams are named for their user (or in Rob Varak's case something close
).
New entrants will also have to create an account at the SGN League site first, and then take control over their teams with the 'manage team' link. The link to that site is in the first page of the post, which also contains all league rules and regulations, procedures and information. Please make sure to read through the initial post of this thread, as it has all the game setup information as well. If you have any troubles at the SGN League site, PM Jason here or at the SGN forum site (different than the league site).
Once the teams have been settled, you can change the names of your teams and put in a logo and so on. Teams whose stadiums are in the game will play home games at that stadium. Teams whose stadiums are not in the game must pick a stadium to play home games in throughout the season (you can change between seasons, just as you can change teams). You must let me know before we start games what stadium you will use as your home stadium.
AtXj, you are still in control of Fulham for now; let me know for sure this afternoon if you want to re-draw. I plan to do the first draw this afternoon around 5p EDT or so.
