Oh yeah, there are spoilers in there if you're holding out for the Chelsea-ManU result.

good thing I'm not british. this would be so depressing. england doesn't have that many world class players. I'm not sure owen will get back to one in the next 6 weeks, so that leaves england with basically no decent forwards for world cup and puts a ton of pressure on the midfielders.
they can't even convince shearer to come out of retirement.

if rooney is out, then who will most likely play forward besides micheal owen...would it be the big stork, peter crouch??
this is HORRIBLE news to english futbol fans...
never like seeing a world class player go down like that right before such a HUGE event that only happens every four years...not good for england and not good for the world cup...

Not if they want to win the thing. In a tournament where a number of teams can trot very good, if unspectacular teams, the winner is often decided by one or two true difference makers on a team, and Rooney was one of those elite players. It's not like England will tank without him, but their chances of winning the cup for the first time in 40 years just takes a big hit without him IMO.XXXIV wrote:England surely has enough depth to overcome the loss of one guy no matter how talented.
Haha, my bad. No harm intended.XXXIV wrote:Naples39 wrote: It's not like England will tank without him, but their chances of winning the cup for the first time in 40 years just takes a big hit without him IMO.![]()

Define world class. I think Lampard, Gerrard, Beckham, Cole, ,joe cole too name just a few would make any team anywere.
If a player plays for his country i think that makes him world class if you mean Like Elite like Henry or Ronaldinho then England has as many as any Nation.
Yes its a huge loss but im hoping Rooney gets back intime to lift them once again.
