International Travel with XBOX 360 and PS2.
fellas,
i got a quick question for the techies of the board or anyone that knows...i'm getting ready to travel overseas and am planning on bringing my xbox 360 and ps2 with me. i was wondering if when they run the x-ray machine on your bags if whether or not that can affect your system or not? i'm just worried that it will screw up my 360 or ps2....i've never traveled by plane with my ps2 or xbox 360, but i plan to live overseas for the year (or longer) so i decided to bring them along. so i guess, anyone who has traveled domestic or internationally with their gaming machines, any info would be great...thanks for the help...

also, another quick question...obviously, we are going to have to buy a tv overseas as well...will it be okay to hook up the xbox 360 and ps2 bought over here in the u.s. to a tv we buy over there OR will there be some technological issues with that? sorry if these are stupid questions...any info. would be great.

Which is only an issue if he's going to a place with PAL. Without knowing where the destination is, you can't say if a voltage converter is required either, though I believe PS2 at least is compatible with 50/60 Hz electricity.dbdynsty25 wrote:Unless there is some sort of NTSC to PAL converter...you're not gonna be able to use the overseas. Two different display technologies.

They use NTSC so you'll be fine. Not sure what power they run, but at worst you'll need a stepdown transformer. I've got a Japanese PSP, PS2, and Dreamcast that have no problem with US power, and I've taken a US PS2 to Japan with no difficulties.
The bigger question is why you'd want to spend that long in the Philippines. I'd want to stay out of that relatively unsafe place.
