1:29 of the first OT and the 2nd scoring chance? 8O Turco isn't totally to blame for this one getting away, but unfortunately he will be blamed for it.

Sorry, 10spro, but I would have to disagree with you assessment that Turco is technically sound. If you call flopping all over the place needlessly hoping the puck is going to hit you technically sound, otherwise the guy's a poor excuse for a goalie. He's playing way too deep in his crease right now, and when he bounces around from post to post he opens himself up like a cheap whore.

The Stars are constantly fighting against him. He lets one in, they score one, he lets another in, they come back. They might even take the lead, and that's when Turco just lets the other team right back in it. How's this for a stat: In 20 playoff games, Turco has on 5 occasions let in a goal in the final two minutes that either lost the game in regulation or forced overtime for a Stars loss. That's terrible!

April 26, 2003 Anaheim 18:51 L, 3-2
April 30, 2003 Anaheim 18:13 L, 1-0
May 5, 2003 Anahiem 18:53 L, 4-3
April 24, 2006 Colorado 17:58 L, 5-4
April 26, 2006 Colorado 19:03 L, 4-3

MO, you don't forget how to stop a puck because it's the playoffs. Without looking at the stats, I believe Dallas had one of the fewer goals against during the regular season, correct me if I am wrong. Hmmm, nobody said anything about Turco then.

With the exception of the 1st game all games have been close and two went to OT. If COL was down 3-0, fans would be all over Theodore too, that's the nature of the business.

Granted he's not having a good run so far, and if I were D. Tippett, I may even change him for J. Hedberg and see what happens. You can tell he's lacking confidence. You can't fault him on the winning goal, and I thought he played well tonight. But with the series 3-0 something has to be done. And if I were the coach I would challenge also the likes of Modano, Guerin and Arnott to step up their play or it's all over.

That stat is a little misleading. Turco's save percentage was only .898, which leads me to believe their solid team defense led to the low GAA. He probably faced the fewest shots in the league, or close to it.

In this year's playoffs, Turco has only faced 83 shots in the 3 games, but has still allowed 14 goals. 83 shots allowed against a team like Colorada, with 2 games going to OT, is damn good team defense.

It's not the guys in front of Turco that need to step their game up. It's Turco.

Speaking of who to blame on Dallas, there was a weird article at ESPN yesterday claiming Modano had only ever had one really good playoff year in 2000. So I checked his playoff stats on NHL.com and he had very similar point totals in two other years, one of which was 1999 when the Stars won the Cup.

Will Yzerman play tonight?

http://www.nhl.com/news/2006/04/270300.html

He'll be there, I think. It will inspire the team even if he only plays a few shifts. Yzerman has been one of the Wings' best players in this series. They need him.

Take care,
PK

Remember him skating on one leg a few years back? He'll be there. His minutes have already gone down because of this injury, so he won't play much, but he'll show the rest of the guys what it takes to win a cup.

Is he going to show the 2002 Stanley Cup Playoffs DVD in the locker room, then? :)

Canucks fans do. Not only that, he was the best player during that series....on one leg. Amaizing. Enjoy this quality player folks, like I said in the other thread I have a feeling it's his last season.

I know it hasn't happened yet, but if Dallas is to be swept, that would conclude one of the worst played series I have seen to date. Other than Detroit being the top seed, and losing to San Jose in '96, I think?

Heh, it couldn't hurt. Total offensive collapse besides Zettereberg. They look like they'd rather be golfing, and they will soon if they lose tonight.

Ahhh! I can't see the Edmonton game on TV! Even though I get CBC manitoba and CBC North on my digital cable, and the Oilers website says it's on those channels, it's not on!

Great, now I'm listening on NHL radio....

Maybe fate is on the Oil's side, as they have no right to be tied with the Wings after two. Between the stupid, undisciplined penalties, the desire to be too cute instead of cranking the puck to the net on the 5-on-3's and the entire team's seeming inability to put a slap shot on net, I'm amazed the Oil is still in the game.

This could be Greene's only start of this series, as he looks like a deer in the headlights out there. Tarnstrom has done nothing in this series, but at least he stayed out of the box in the first three games.

I'll give Winchester the benefit of the doubt on his two minors, as he continues to grind and make things happen on offense.

Thank God Legace hasn't been sharp, as both of the Edmonton goals have been soft. If the Oil steals a win tonight, then the hockey gods are smiling upon them.

GO OIL!

P.S.: Could someone please set an alarm clock for Ales Hemsky? That kid needs to wake the f*ck up and realize it's time to start playing hockey. Hemmer has been invisible in this series without his security blanket of playing with Smyth and Horcoff on the first line.

What a HORSESH*T no-call on Lidstrom's pick on Stoll on Detroit's third goal. With all the ticky-tack sh*t that has been called on both teams tonight, how the f*ck can that not be called?

F*CK ME. Ridiculous.

I agree...

Im still waiting for the high sticking call against the Canes. Koiveu is probably done for the series on top of it.

They call everything ticky tacky toucy piece of crap then miss the two most blatant and obvious calls of the playoffs...Go figure....

Despite some missed calls, you can't just give up 11 penalties to the team that has the best PP in the league. And yes , A. Hesmki should wake up and realize that it's the playoffs going on, that dumb penalty with less than 5 minutes to go and the team trailing only by one, was unnecesary.

What a beautiful move by Datsyuk and better finish by Zetterberg. It's the best of three now, and Legace better pick up his play if they want to advance.

How about those SENS. M. Havlat is HOT, all their goals were beautiful tonight. Tampa also has a goaltending problem.

And I am worried about the Habs. Not so much because they lost the last game, but more important is how the team will react now without their Captain. Big loss and the momentum may just have turned in favor of the Canes.
