He's been probably their MVP for the season. The media is just saying "blood clots" at the moment but with what happened earlier this season to Wings J. Fisher, no one wants to take any chances.

Absolutely, even if they were well on their way to the Stanley Cup finals, you have to keep things in perspective.

Of course, there are those who would call him a p***y and tell him to suit up no matter what, because the Stanley Cup is the Holy Grail.

Seems to me they are equally hot now as they were bad a few months ago. Amazing how quickly expectations can change from maybe missing playoffs to being hottest team in league.

Wings put another nail into the Oilers coffin. It looked as if the Oilers are out of gas. Legace was in a zone tonight. He made some really great saves. Sorry PK.

PS.....Dom has not forgot your early season message. I expect you will hear from him sometime this week.

Heard from him tonight, the little bastard. :) He called while I was in the shower.

This late-season swoon by the Oil is just eating me alive. Ughhhhhhh.

Here's a hell of an impressive stat by Detroit: The Wings haven't lost a game in regulation since March 7 and have managed at least one point in every game of their last 17.

Take care,
PK

Legace sure looked like a Cup contending goalie last night. Especially considering the Wings had nothing really to play for and the Oil were fighting for thier playoff lives.

Well, congrats to the Wings as they win the President's Trophy for most wins and points.

Take the gift from Edmonton and run with it. Your 'Nucks are in the proverbial driver's seat for a first-round series with the Wings.

F*ck, I hate this ... my stomach is boiling over.

Wow, Mats Sundin was unstoppable last night - 4 goals and 2 assists. Me and the two friends I was watching it with just went absolutely nuts. Too bad it's pretty much for nothing.

Atlanta beat Tampa Bay, but ATL's also 1 point against Toronto with a particularly weak schedule: Two games with Washington, one with Boston, and one with Florida.

All of a sudden it's not Tampa who I'm worried about, but Atlanta.

He has been chomping at the bit to get some phone smack payback. He is a bigger Wings fan than me. Blame Carol for dialing your number up for him.

Talk to you soon. Big doings for my crazy ass.

pk, I feel your pain. As a Canadian I wanted your Oilers to be IN of course, but after I looked at your Oils schedule and the Nucks, it may come down to a tie situation in points, but because we have more wins, we would just squeeze in. Unless VAN screws up royally the last three games, we might just squeeze into the final 8th spot.

And the game that will hunt the Oilers forever will be the one you lost vs the Blues. I am on teeth and nails as I wait anxiously for tonight's game.

Well pk, those Canuckleheads gave the puck back in your court man. With the game 2-0 and then 4-3 in the 3rd period, with what is at stake, you would think that you would play safely with 4 minutes to go. Shock. Sharks win in OT.

We lose tonight and it's all over, and if your team wins the last 2, you control your own destiny. I don't even want to watch these games anymore. I am having an ulcer.

Leafs win in OT - again. 3 points out of the playoffs with three games left, but Atlanta won again. And Sundin gets another goal.

Congrats pk, you can breathe easier now. We never deserved it. If you can't hold on to a f*****g lead for the second straight game, you don't deserve to be in the 8th spot. F**K. It's over. It's time to dismantle the team.

Boy does Chicago blow. The Wings dressed only 16 skaters, a lot of them minor leaguers because of rest/injury and they still crush them 7-3. Just brutal.

YES! YES! YES! YES! Ales Hemsky and San Jose, I LOVE BOTH OF YOU F*CKERS WITH ALL MY HEART!

No doubt the Oil backed in. But anything can happen in the Second Season. Bring on the Wings, baby!

:) :) :)

The Wings impressed me very much Tuesday night against the Oil. No weaknesses whatsoever, as Chelios and Yzerman both looked like they had turned back the clock 10 years compared to Detroit's earlier games against Edmonton this season.

Legace made some SICK saves, too.

I'm looking forward to the series!

You know that the Oilers are supposed to play Dallas every playoff year, so I will go on record to say that the Avalanche will fold over their last two games and Edmonton will end up the #7 seed to play......DALLAS.

Some things you really can't change.

I'd rather have Detroit, honestly. The Oilers were sh*t this year against Dallas in the regular season, while I believe they were 2-2 against the Wings.

Colorado needs just one point from its last two games to lock up the No. 7 spot, and its last game is against Edmonton Monday.

I am so stoked, it's sick. And to think the Oil got in on a soft goal by Hemsky. Right through the five hole on a little flick ... Jiggy should have stopped that one, but I'm glad he didn't!

I think the headline this morning on edmontonoilers.com says it all.

:)

Well while you guys get ready to enjoy the playoffs, let me tell you about April 20th. That's the day I look forward to, because that's the day I find out if the the Blues land the #1 overall pick in the 2006 entry draft!

While I think Roloson has let in a few soft goals since he arrived in Edmonton from Minnesota, it's hard to overlook these facts I found this morning in the Edmonton Sun: The Oilers' goals-against average is down by nearly one goal per game since Roloson has arrived, and he's played every game since he came. Rolie also has allowed three or less goals in his last six starts.

So I guess Rolie has been worth it. Keep it up, Rolie! Now the Oil just has to learn how to score again. They've only scored four or more goals twice in their last seven games.

Take care,
PK

Noticed this in the notes of the Leafs/Isles game....

Satan was voted the "Good Guy by the Long Island chapter of the Professional Hockey Writers Association for cooperation with the media.

Rough year on the Island, I guess.
