Woohoo! Looks like me and Zep got a relegation battle on our hands.
I'm swearing off master league play from this moment on. I'm convinced that playing with quality players is screwing me up for my Lazio ties. LOL

Db beat me 3-0 last night. He can tell you the names of his goal scorers.
ManU came out firing, with many possesions right in front of Barcelona's box. Luckily, Barcelona's crafty back-liners were able to thwart most of this attempts, but eventually ManU broke thru in the first half. Barcelona finally mounted some offense and had a couple of close in attempts, but couldn't finnish. ManU then scored 2 goals in the middle of the 2nd half to ice the victory.

Jared and I were talking during our game last night (another bitter defeat for Fenerbahce, who gave up a 1-0 lead), and we thought it might be a good idea to let people get different teams at some point as we go forward.
What I think is the best way, is to make it simple and free and easy: I think that in between seasons, players should be allowed to draw new teams along with whatever new entrants we have into the league (I know, I know, just call me optimistic).
Those in the top division would only be allowed to choose from teams in the Second Tier, whereas those in the bottom division coud decide if they want a team from the Top Tier or the Second Tier. I think that's the only real way to make it fair.
As for myself, I will only ever draw from the Second Tier if I am stuck in the Second Division (as it is becoming likely that I will be next season), and I would encourage others who generally play v. CPU at 4* or higher to do the same. And of course, those who are promoted over the seasons will have to stick with their Top Tier team or draw for a Second Tier team.
Anyway, I think this is what we should do, but I would like to hear your guys' thoughts.
One of the things I find cool in the league module we are using is that it tracks stats over multuple seasons, and you can look at players' stats over their career or season by season. But that's not a very good reason to keep people from changing up teams season by season.

In accordance with the team assignment rules, a draw for a team has been performed for our new, mid-season entrant, Sudz.
As a new entrant, Sudz will be placed in the Second Division. This being a special situation, in which he is replacing a player in the middle of a season, he will inherit the record of the player he is replacing.
The first draw resutls in AC Milan.
Sudz, if you want to use Milan, let us know and we will get you set up to start games once the second half schedule is posted on Monday. If you prefer a different team, let us know and a second draw will be done. You can choose to redraw twice in total.

Excellent. Ciao, Lazio!Zeppo wrote:Jared and I were talking during our game last night (another bitter defeat for Fenerbahce, who gave up a 1-0 lead), and we thought it might be a good idea to let people get different teams at some point as we go forward.

OTOH, I think for the sake of competitive balance we need to stick Jared with some mid-table team from the Honduran second division.

Wife and kid are gone until around 4:00pm Central, which leaves me free. Otherwise tomorrow evening is best.

The second half schedule is up. Try to get your first half games in by the middle of the week, becuase:
The deadline for the second half of Season One is Sunday, 4/23
Once again, extensions will be granted liberally, but please do request them.
Good luck in the second half. So far, it looks like any of 3 teams in the DSPremiereship are still in danger of relegation, while the fight for promotion appears to be between Fulham and Man U., at least for now.

Just out of curiosity, does anyone here use IM programs? I'm in another online league (for NHL94 actually
), and it's often a lot easier to connect with people via IM as you can just sign on and see's who available and talk to them directly.
Also, sorry I've been dragging behind this week. I was out of town for the first part of the weekend, and then my family showed up at my place on saturday as part of a surprise birthday party, and are still here. Things will be back to normal tomorrow, so I'll get right on those games.
