OT: F1 2006 Strategy Game
Moderators: Bill_Abner, ScoopBrady
The whole one or two stop decision is a real head scratcher. I've been going back and forth about it, and will probably change my mind a few more times before the race runs. At the moment I'm going with one, but still a tough call. They do seem to wear down quick in practice.
It's the decisions like this that'll make this game rock.

Or one of Tom Walkinshaw's hit men, who still are available because SA uses an old Arrows chassis.sfz_T-car wrote:Pipe down or I'll slap you with one of the extraneous aero bits from the SA05 bodywork

How f*cking cool is this thing? Wow. Mega!
Update: Damn, just like TOCA 3 Poker Night: I make a costly mistake near the end of the race! My poor qualifying performance hurt, too.
The amount of post-race stats and data is SICK!
Man, this is fun as hell!
Take care,
PK

Quick question: In the interface, does the text below mean we have 23 hours to finish Sepang or that Sepang practice starts in 23 hours?
F1 2006
Sepang
23 hr 19 min remain
Thanks,
PK

My read is we have 23+ hrs to practice before the start of qualifying. I assume we'll then have 24 hrs for warmups before the race on Saturday afternoon.pk500 wrote:Quick question: In the interface, does the text below mean we have 23 hours to finish Sepang or that Sepang practice starts in 23 hours?

Of course I could be wrong. I sure was in Bahrain.
23 hours until Practice ends, and qualifying is calculated. However, I think Don can pause it since it's a private game. If we want.pk500 wrote:Quick question: In the interface, does the text below mean we have 23 hours to finish Sepang or that Sepang practice starts in 23 hours?

I don't want to post spoilers here. . . . I hope everyone was able to enjoy the slow roll out of info, and didn't accidentally spoil the race for himself. Thanks Psycho for the tip on that!
Weather is going to become a factor in Malasia! Should shake things up. . .
hmmm, so first I much up the pits AND my mechanics were "disorganized", costing me 20 seconds in the pits. But THEN I was "concerned about my rear wing" and slowed down.....
Damn, with all that, I could have finished in the top 5 easily I think! Instead I finished 8 and got beat by my teammate.....

At least I obeyed the first rule of F1: Always dust your sorry-ass teammate.
Let the intramural squabbling begin, cuz. We are Team Turmoil.

Man, I was causing havoc left and right. I went from starting 3rd to mid pack because I don't know how to start apparently. Then PK was blocking the crap out of me, allowing my teammate Arni to get past me. Then the safety car comes out, and I stay out, while everyone pits, and of course I pit the next lap and am in 14th. Then I wrecked PK's teammate in my haste to get forward. Got to 9th, almost in the points. FUN!
Oh, and I posted this on BATracer, but I'll put it here too. This is the different levels of weather, the engineers advice is just from "bone dry" to "fully wet". You have to jimmy the numbers just right to hit the setup.

Leading Sepang practice by nearly four-tenths: That's what I'm talking about, mofos!
Damn, this is fun. A delight for an F1 geek like me. I'd also like to try the touring car series sometime.
Take care,
PK
