Good call on South Park. That´s an absolutely brilliant parody of the American musical.

Good thing reading these lists jogged the memory a bit. I have a hard time remembering them all. I´ll leave action movies out of the drams category:

Comdey:
Office Space (I live this movie every day, so it´s both funny and scary at the same time).
Happy Gilmore
Old School
Animal House
Caddyshack
Slap Shot

Drama
Braveheart
Legends of the Fall
True Romance
Leaving Las Vegas

Some movis are hard to categorize. Is the Matrix action, sci-fi, drama, or a mix ? Same geos for a movies like High Fidelity. Is it a comedy, drama (is has it´s serious spots), or romance?

You got great taste in movies, blub.

Ikiru is one of my all-time faves. Really shows that Kurosawa is one of the best all-around directors ever. If not THE best.

The Decalogue, though not a movie per se, leaves me speechless every time. I got a chance to see it on the big screen last year, and it was SO good! Amazing stuff. I like Dreyer, too, but I prefer Passion of Joan of Arc over Ordet or Day of Wrath or any of his other films.

Give Sergei Paradjanov a shot if you like challenging cinema. Of his four major films (the soviets put him in Siberia for his films, so he only made 4 major ones in his lifetime) three are available on DVD: The Color of Pomegranates, Ashik Kerib, and The Legend of Suram Fortress. Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors is his seminal work, but it´s only on VHS, though worth checking out.
Something tells me that if you like The Decalogue, Ordet, and Wings of Desire, you´ll like Paradjanov´s oblique nod to divinity. It´s some great stuff.

Angel Heart? Man, I remember going to see that movie when I was like 12 or 13 years old. That movie creeped the hell out of me. To this day, I couldn´t watch that movie again.
