The man has been a HEAVY smoker for his entire adult life and survived tongue cancer. Do you expect him to look like Brad Pitt?
Take care,
PK

Lets face it, Eddie has never been what you would call "handsome". He does look like a character from Lord of the Rings in that photo.

Can't blame Valerie for dumpig him. She still looks pretty good and she has to be in her mid-40's.
I just wish he would get his butt in gear, call DLR and make some damn music.

That's just one of the many reasons you shouldn't smoke. It ages you beyond your years.
On a side note, there's this woman I work with who has probably smoked for 20 something years at least. Once she starts coughing, she can hardly stop. It's really quite frightening and sad.

Dan:
I have a friend who is in his mid-50s and has been a three-pack-a-day smoker for 30 years. The guy can't even walk a flight of stairs without stopping to wheeze. He hits his inhaler harder than Deadheads hit the bong at a Jerry Garcia seance.
Yet he still insists that allergies are mostly to blame and is proud that he's cut back to just 1 1/2 to two packs per day. Sadly, you simply can't help a person like that. Breaks my heart, too, as he's a wonderful guy.
Take care,
PK

He was later seen huddling in a corner, caressing his pack of cigaretes and saying "It is just you and me, my precious..."

Rumor has it that the next Rockstar show will be Rockstar:Van Halen.

Nope. It was just a rumor. The show has already been cast according to those in the know.

Not attempting to preach or ruin the fun here but Eddie Van Halen is terminally ill with throat cancer and it's spread thoughout his lymphatic system. He was never totally cleared from the tounge cancer, one never rids himself of oral cancer. Eddie has been a model national spokesperson for The Oral Cancer Foundation. Since I work in association with this group as a chemical addiction counselor and personally battle nicotine addiction (smokeless tobacco) I can attest that it is one of the most difficult addictions to beat (as they all are). Sadly, it looks like Eddie is packing it in.

Basketball,
I did not know that. Thanks for sharing. I had thought that Eddie was cancer free now, yet still smoking. I meant no ill will or anything towards Eddie by my post.
I don't wish bad health on anybody and I hope he beats it.
