OT: Super Bowl Predictions

I don't think the national media is casting too much doubt into the Steelers' victory.
ESPN said calls affected the game but they went on about how calls have been bad all season and how the NFL should hire full-time refs.
IOW, they're saying that the bad calls in the SuperBowl game were not out of the ordinary. Well they don't go into whether a championship game should have a higher standard of officiating than normal.
There hasn't been a SuperBowl before with so many egregious calls so they will likely be forgotten. Other sports, particularly the NBA, has had some controversy with officiating, even in championship games. The NFL usually had a better reputation than most other sports.
But if it happens again...

Don't worry, if anybody's missing the parade live, you'll be able to see it on "COPS" tonight. They're airing a two-hour special entitled: "How the Pittsburgh STEALERS made off with the Lombardi Trophy."Leebo33 wrote:How would you know that parades have Grand Marshalls? Is that the head referee I see as the Grand Marshal?

Yea I was one of them and I had the over under set at 5. I was way off but I darn sure knew how it would turn out.
Bear with me as I am about to say what most of you are thinking.
Funny how I am not involved, yet here we have poor little Divot getting ganged up on. Could the problem lie elsewhere? Maybe mirrors need to be looked into or possibly someone needs to grow a pair of....

Actually I prefer Divot stays like he is. This was just too amusing watching him try to wrangle out of what seems clear to everyone else.
Oh and to make this thread complete.

Just to help clarify our train of thought on this...when someone writes:
As for Hip feeling cheated, f*** that. If the Bears had won a game like this Super Bowl I'd print this entire thread out so I could wipe my butt with it while listening to the "Super Bowl Shuffle" and growing a celebratory Kyle Orton neckbeard. Every Super Bowl winner may not play in a great Super Bowl game, but every Super Bowl winner has to have a great season to get there. Enjoy, Steeler fans!
It would not be surprising to think they are at least hinting at a conspiracy. I think Divot has explained that's not what he meant, but we didn't pull a James Frey and just make something up, either"I have no vested interest in either team, but I came away from last night's game thinking the NFL wanted Bettis to finish with a ring in his hometown. I realize such a scenario could never be proven, but this SB left a very biased taste in my mouth.

LOL@Brando, again.
I think part of the problem is that the Super Steelers of the 70's set such a high standard that any other type of Super Bowl victory isn't going to compare. The Steelers didn't dominate in any phase, they didn't beat a hated rival, or they didn't win the 4th in 6 years with an incredible 2nd half. Even though a lot of us were too young to remember those SB's, we've still seen the highlights a million times. Once Ben Roethlisberger threw that interception, and memories of Neil O'Donnell flashed in our head, this Super Bowl victory was a letdown.
I think anyone that knows anything about football realizes the Steelers were legit. It's tough to play 9 straight good football games and 4 straight against good to great teams. They were bound for a letdown....but how do you like winning? It sure beats losing.

Yeah that non-call on Marion was ridiculous. Wonder what would have happened if he tried to dunk it. Would they have called a foul on KG?
What was the deal with Rothlisberger? He was so on target in the postseason.
They mentioned he was wearing a glove and that his thumb may still have been bothering him. Then supposedly reports that he was too amped? Cowher did say at half that Rothlisberger needed to settle down.

Wow, look at you....aren't YOU impressive! You can attack someone from behind the comfort of your monitor and keyboard. You also have so much room to talk about mirrors and balls. I did not realize that to be perfect, someone had to act like you do. Thank God I am not "perfect", in fact far from it.bdoughty wrote:

I also guess that your statement telling Jared to not start anything with me just "slipped your mind", right? I find it particularly amusing that you have nothing better to do with your time here at DSP than to attack me, not to mention PMing others about my involvement in this thread. I pity you.
At least I had the balls to admit I was wrong for some of the things I said. All you have done is try to start yet another flame. How impressive....bdoughty wrote:Actually I prefer Divot stays like he is. This was just too amusing watching him try to wrangle out of what seems clear to everyone else.

Somehow I doubt that your "DSP life is complete" as long as I am here to launch your personal attacks on. Continue flaming, it is what you do best.....bdoughty wrote:Ahh feels better and my life at DSP is complete.

It must have been the latter, as Big Ben has worn the glove for the entire postseason. I think he wore it for a good chunk of the regular season, too, right Steelers' fans?wco81 wrote:They mentioned he was wearing a glove and that his thumb may still have been bothering him. You need to spend less time worrying about BD and I and more time on planning your defense for the next person who interrogates you with a combative intent. It's just a matter of time. After reading this thread I think you should save that pity for your friends and family. They deserve it far more then I ever would. I only have to read your threads, they have to live it.DivotMaker wrote:I pity you.
You might want to read your "addmisions" because they come off more like "you are all idiots so I must have to reword everything I say now or stop posting in forum threads because my skin is not thick enough to deal with internet discussion" - then actualy admitting you are wrong.DivotMaker wrote:At least I had the balls to admit I was wrong for some of the things I said.

Seriously, before this thread gets locked. The comments by certain members in this thread are way out of line and our the continuation of personal attacks from months ago.
While I think certain members here are a little too thin skinned, their is a difference between fun ribbing and a flat out uncalled for personal attacks.
If this was done by a new member to these forums they would have been given a time out by now. We keep hearing how their is no special treatment here, well here is the mods chance to prove it. You've got individuals who have been told numerous times to stop the s*** and much like my 2 year old can't control themselves.
I'm sure I'll get flammed for this, but enough is enough with these two, step up and do something.

Step up and do something? Gee you steal that line from a movie.
Look I could care less if I get banned. I am posting elsewhere. I just came in to point out Divot was a complete and utter tool who has no balls and is nothing more then a viral marketing tool for EA. Notice that I had nothing to do with the first 9 or so pages of his lunacy. So apparently it is not just me that causes it.
So do we ban Leebo also for getting Divots dander up to? Or DB? Why leave him out?
Anyway I will make it easy for you.
HERE IS A PICTURE OF CHRISTY CANYON. BAN ME FOR LINKING TO PORN.
