OT: Super Bowl Predictions

It's already monday in the land of the rising sun and I have a bet with my Japanese business associates that Seahawaks will prevail by a touchdown.
People here are really interested in the SB. Hawks got robbed in the 1st quarter of a bad call for a TD by Jackson. But my faith remains with them. Go Seattle!

Uh, which game were you watching? He pushed him in the chest to get open. Not exactly a robbery.10spro wrote:It's already monday in the land of the rising sun and I have a bet with my Japanese business associates that Seahawaks will prevail by a touchdown.

Now, the Big Ben TD...I don't know if I agree with it, but they didn't have enough evidence to overturn it so I can live with the call.

Steelers are getting all the calls. Why didnt they review that pass near the end of the half where it may have looked like jackson may have hit the pylon for a td. That pass int call was a little iffy as well.b_assassin wrote:Some close calls by the officials...
I'm curious as to why the game is actually being played, since it appears the NFL is motivated to make this Pittsburgh's day. Anyone else notice they haven't done one commercial with a Seahawk talking about the Lombardi trophy?
The roth td was also questionable. Steelers aren't playing that well in the first half but the refs are helping them out so the abc and nfl can have a happy ending.
You knew the NFL would squeeze Tom Brady into this superbowl
I agree the Steelers are getting the calls but that one was obvious...the dumbass ran to close to the sidelines and learly only got one foot in and repeated the same mistake two plays later. The Seahawks have their heads up thier asses. They should be up 2 TDs.Inuyasha wrote: Steelers are getting all the calls. Ben never crossed the line. I dont blame the review he didnt have the evidence but the ref at the goal line should never have called a TD.
The offnsive PI on the Seahawks was very weak. That should have been a Seattle TD.

This is my #1 complaint about the Super Bowl, the additional week is completely unnecessary. The media runs out of interesting things to report after about 12 hours after the conference championships, the rest just becomes pointless hype. The teams get rusty because all they do is shoot commercials and answer stupid questions from the press.tjung0831 wrote:These are the best two teams in football??? This game should serve as a wakeup call to eliminate the extra week in between games. I saw better preseason games than this garbage.
I have to admit I'm seething at how this game has been officiated thus far, the more I watch the more I think that they should have a popularity contest to pick the Super Bowl winner, since the results of the game are purely academic.
ABC should just be re-named the Steelers Television Network tonight. Btw, I can't stand Chris Berman or anything ESPN related.b_assassin wrote:This is my #1 complaint about the Super Bowl, the additional week is completely unnecessary. That is the most poorly called rule in the game. I think they'll only call it if someone breaks a leg. Don't put something in the rulebook that no one is going to call.matthewk wrote:2) non-call on the hoarsecollar
I'm not cheering for Seattle, but they seem to be on the wrong end of every questionable call.
Hey, Randle El with a TD on a gadget (Madden's new favorite word) play. Suck it, Eric Crouch!

I feel your pain.matthewk wrote:The refs should be wearing black and yellow. 3 plays in row they screwed Seattle.
1) Phantom holding call
2) non-call on the hoarsecollar
3) Hasslebeck called for an illegal block when he's mkaing a tackle
The fix is in.
The reffing has been s*** all post season.
I guarantee you Mike perera will be on NFL network telling us how great it was.

Fines be damned, Holmgren better be all over the officiating in the post-game. The Steelers are a good team, but if they hold on, they didn't win this game completely on their own merits. That holding call has nearly locked it up for the Steelers, just when the Hawks should be up 17-14. Couple that with all the BS calls in the first half, and we have ourselves a pre-determined outcome. I can live with losing, but to lose like this is complete and total horsesh*t.
You know the Steelers are so lucky they didnt run into the Pats. I can't really call them the best team in football this year even if they go on and win this game. If the pats dont have a off day vs denver, it's the pats in the superbowl today. But thats the way the ball bounces sometimes and Pitt took advantage of it.
I am not a Steelers or Seahawks fan, but these officals totally screwed seattle tonight.
