Videogame Athlete Hall of Fame Inductees
I was thinking about how in certain sports games there have been players that seemed unstoppable. No matter how hard you tried, they'd always get the better of you. I thought it would be neat to reminisce about some of videogames all time sports studs and put together a Hall of Fame list. Hell, I might write up an article about it using quotes from everybody. I'll get the ball rolling with the first 2 inductees.
1. Michael Vick - Madden 2004
In Madden 2004, Vick had the ability to scramble in the backfield for hours on end and throw 70-yard bombs off his back foot 15 yards behind the line of scrimmage.
2. Ricky Williams - ESPN NFL 2k4
In ESPN NFL 2k4, Ricky could bowl over anybody. It didn't matter how big a defender was, Ricky could plant his ass on the ground with little to no effort. He was so damn good he could play multiple positions.
What are some others you remember? This isn't strictly limited to football games, this Hall of Fame encompasses all sports.

mark recchi in EA nhl...the 1st one. he'd come out of the corner and just unleash a wrister...goal every time
larry bird lakers v celtics dominant turn around jumper.
pedro martinez high heat 2001 threw a no hitter with him...went 24-2

The best part about bringing her up, along with a picture, is that your wife can now find that it your browser/google history that you searched for pictures of a "hot" video game character. I your wife thought you had a gaming obsession BEFORE she finds that history. LOL.Danimal wrote:Hitomi - DOA Volleyball

OMG! I remember Paste! he played for New Jersey. I think I hit like 85 bombs with him. Yes, I kept a notebook of all my stats.Dave wrote:Paiste from Bases Loaded
Jeremy Roenick - NHLPA 93. He was blazingly fast, could hit, and had an accurate rocket shot. Plus he made little Wayne's head bleed in Swingers.

Reggie White in Madden 93 (I think) - punt blocking a speciality.
The Championship Manager/Football Manager series is very reliant upon researchers, which has led in its various versions to certain 'superplayers' being identified in various versions.
Neil Lennon. He may be a DM at Celtic, but in Champ Man 2 he was a carrot-topped goal machine..once scoring 42 in a season for me from attacking midfield.
Javier Saviola. Even before joining Barca IRL he was the pick of the young talent (as it were) in CM 97/98. Upon taking over any club with money, item 1 on the agenda was 'get Saviola!'
Anders Sigthorsson. In CM01/02, he was £200k to start with, but unbeknown to many he had the highest possible rating for future talent. So, hang on to him for 12 months and you had someone capable of playing in almost every position at the highest level - I once sold him to Juventus for £35m halfway through season 2. IRL I have no idea where he is, and searching for him can be difficult because the 'th' in his surname is denoted by an Icelandic charachter that I can best describe as looking like a pregnant woman seen from the side.

"The players come from all over the world, the money from deep underneath the Persian Gulf, but, as another, older City poster campaign put it, this is their city. They may now exist in the global spotlight, but they intend to keep it that way."

Maybe it's just me, but I found Marty Booker of the Bears unstoppable in NFL 2K3. He caught anything you threw at him and was the bastard love child of Jerry Rice and Art Monk.
Take care,

There were several in the first edition of Bill Walsh College Football on the Genesis:
Bo Jackson: I had a buddy who would play as Auburn '84 and would go so far as calling punt return for every defensive play and then audibling into pass coverage - he'd then have Bo playing DB or Safety and either cover or blitz with him - he played every down in every game.
WR #32 (I think) on Pitt '80 - this guy never dropped a ball and was completely unstoppable. I put together a 40+ game head to head winning streak once I discovered him. Even Bo couldn't cover him!
-Ray!!!
