Leebo33 wrote:Has anyone had a decent shootout? I don't even control my goalie and can stop the CPU...literally. I purposely controlled my goalie to end a shootout the other day because I made it two times the entire roster without any team scoring. That's happened to me twice.

Sorry if this covered already. This thread is getting long :D
The shootouts are horrible. The CPU will not score if you don't control your goalie.

If I'm not in a season game, I usually have a seven-player limit. If the shootout gets to seven players with no goals, I shut off the game and play another one.

Take care,

Thanks, PK. Luckily, I've only had two shootouts now during my season so far.

I just had my first online game last night against a guy by the name of JOV JOV who's been playing quite a bit online already and my question is to those that have a fair share of NHL 2K6 online experience with the 360.
I was palying my usual Canucks vs his Philly team. Right off the bat, he's all business, he matches his top names with mine, which D man plays against Naslund & Bertuzzi, etc, in other words I can tell that he knows his hockey.

It was a sloppy affair as I lost 11-8 but here's my concern. Out of those 11 goals he scored, easily 6 or 7 of them were of the same variety where he skates down towards the keeper and about 12 feet away from the crease, he snaps a shot to either side of the post scoring every time.

I was wondering if this is an online flaw that of course I didn't know, as he paused the game 2-3 times during the match (irritating when people do that). Has anyone score easily that way online?

That may be why the scoring total was so high. I'd suggest playing on All Star, and see how you feel about it.

Yeah, well I am trying that next time, but more to my concern is the way the other guy scored 6-7 of his goals by going the same pattern towards the goalie and snapping a shot on either side of the goalkeeper's stick.
I understand a goal or 2 but 6-7 of the same variety, therefore my curiosity where's there's an online glitch.

Not sure if it's a glitch. I play online, but only in a online extreme sim league.

And how are your results sully in that online league? You find the gameplay very much like today's NHL. Are your games close? Maybe I'll hook up with you one of these days. I got the game a few weeks back but I just started playing it offline so I decided to go on PRO online just to get my feet wet.

Results are close to realistic. I'm 7-6-2 through 15 games, with 44 goals scored, and 47 allowed.

The league requires its members to play like the game is played in real life. Dump and chase, cycling the puck, setting up in the offensive zone, etc.

We try to stay away from the end to end rushes, with one timers galore. If you're ever up for a game, just let me know. I love this game.

I've played several online games with a bud of mine and they have been wars. Last 2 games were a 2-1 win and a 2-1 loss. If you play patient defense and guard the slot you will get a great game of hockey.

Was the goalie kinda hunching or flinching like he had the puck caught in his gear on the goals ?

Now that I think about it, it seems that the puck just sneaks by the keeper's glove side, near his gear allright, cheap goals that the CPU would never score against me, yet online this guy seemed to know what he was doing.
