MVP Roster Update

Post by PantherFan »

Does anyone know where I can find a copy of the 12-20 roster update for the xbox? Supposedly this has all the transactions up until a few days ago , plus rating changes to reflect this past season.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Very good to hear. I just played a game last night (I'm in June of my 2nd season). This is a game that just does not get old for me. I can easily see myself using 2005 as my MLB game of choice for 2006 if 2k6 falls flat again.

The Ultimate Roster Project guys will keep the rosters fresh all year via MVPedit. As long as someone still converts them to Action Replay files you'll be good to go this season.

I finally got a chance to check out EAs roster update. The Damon signing is not in there, but Delgado is on the Mets, Overbay is on the Blue Jays, and a bunch of others are done.

The coolest part is that they really did modify the ratings to reflect the 2005 season. I checked a few guys I knew should change (Derrick Lee, Sosa, Prince Fielder), and they did a good job on these. I feel much better now knowing that I can use MVP 2005 for the 2006 season if 2k6 doesn't please me.

EA is updating the rosters? Will we get new rosters this coming season and can they do that if they don't have the license?

I think this is the last update unless they decide to put one out on 12/31. After 1/1 they can't make any more updates.

The license runs out at the stroke of midnight on New Years Eve. If they can get one more before then I think it will be more than good enough for those who want to use the game next year.

Baseball is not like football and basketball where you have guys being drafted and then starting months later. Baseball is a slower process, which is good for the rosters. The "rookies" like Prince Fielder are there, and the veterans have been adjusted based on the 2005 season. Can't ask for much more from EA on this one.

I'm sure someone will take the latest roster update and make the moves between now and opening day. I think I may start a new fantasy draft season this week.

If you got the pc version, this link should ease your worries

A new Busch stadium, new distances at Petco, updated rosters, etc. At the very least, updated rosters I'm sure for the ps2 and xbox owners should keep this game fresh for awhile.

Thanks to everyone for your help and suggestions. I agree, EA did a great job getting this update out before the deadline. I believe that MVP05 is the best sports game ever and am thrilled to be getting a ratings update to reflect the past season. I will still check out 2k6 but am not expecting much. Hopefully I'll be pleasantly suprised.

I know this has probably been asked a thousand times on this site, but could someone tell me why I am having trouble transfering an updated roster via AR to my xbox?

I believe I'm supposed to extract all the files from an AR file, drag it into my AR, save it to my HD and then load it into the game.

However, when I try to drag the file into AR, it says "invalid xbox save". I heard that certain files might have to be deleted from some files, but have no idea which ones...

Does anyone have an AR MVP Roster file that they can link me to and explain how to use it?

Sorry for the trouble, but I'm dying to play with the new Jays roster, but as of now Glaus is still in the clubhouse unable to take the field.

Fanatic - Dont extract the file. Save the file to your desk top and drag it to the Action replay.

Thanks Panther...But I actually tried that....and while I was able to get it to my AR and then save it to my HD, when trying to load it into MVP, it said "unable to load rosters"...Any ideas on that one?

Did you go to your xbox dashboard and copy the file from the AR to the xbox hard drive?

Yeah, I did that.

I then when into MVP, saw it under Rosters and tried to load it...Still got the unable to load message.

Are there some files in the folder that I should remove? That's the only thing I can think of right now.

Try this roster file at Operation sports. It works fine for me. Remember to save it to your desktop, drag it as is to the AR memory card and then copy it to your xbox hard drive. Insert the game go to manage rosters and load the file. I hope this works.

I'm embarrased about it, but turns out the real problem was that my original AR memory card is pure crap. I bought a microsoft one to fix the problem but in the last few months, I moved all my things and forgot that I had two.

So, now with the WORKING memory card, it all works and the rosters are great.

Sorry to waste your time with that buddy......Appreciate your help.

Fanatic - Glad you got everything working. It's never a waste of time trying to help any of the DSP guys. God knows how much they have helped me, not to mention the money they have saved me over the years.
